Gingham at the St. Julien

Happy October!
I cannot believe its here already.  At work I have to initial and date next to everything that I review, so I have written October 1st probably 100 times already today, and its so strange! I am sorry to sound like a broken record, but September just flew by.  October means that my parents visit, R's birthday, and Halloween, so I think its going to be a pretty awesome month!
Outfit Details:
Purse & Scarf: Vintage/ Thrifted
Shoes: Thrifted
Tights: Target
Collar Necklace: Romwe
Speaking of R, he kindly took the pictures for me last Friday during my lunch break.  He also "kindly" pointed out that I looked like Ronald McDonald with my red plaid shoes and mustard tights, but I don't care- I like it! When I wear something that is black and white like this vintage gingham dress, I can't help but want to pair it with colorful accessories. I have been wanting to take pictures at the gorgeous St. Julien hotel for months, and when I spotted the red and yellow umbrellas while biking past it on my way to work, I knew that it would be the perfect spot for this outfit.  You guys all know how much I like matching my outfits to the backdrop!
In other news, I got the most exciting sale ever for my vintage shop last Friday.  The girl ordered four pieces at once, which I was excited about to begin with because that is my biggest order thus far.  Then, when her transaction went through, I looked at the shipping address, and it was going to the Dolce & Gabbana headquarters in Milan! I completely understand that its probably just a personal order, but nevertheless, to get a big order going to one of the biggest names in the history of fashion pretty much made my whole week.  If you follow me on instagram (@braidedbandit), then you saw the packages I shipped out this weekend.  You can bet I was even more careful and nervous while inspecting and wrapping those babies!  It really just goes to show how the internet can bring amazing connections and opportunities - I have really loved getting to ship things that I have found and personally adore to lovely ladies all over the world!
Anyway, I hope you are having a great start to the week and cheers to October!
xo Hannah

  1. hahah kindly pointed out you look like ronald mcdonald. mean boy! i really like this look- i was gearing up to compliment you on the mustard tights until i read that comment. i really like how it popsagainst the blue checkered dress (which is adorable, by the way). and i can't believe it's october either! winter is right around the corner and i'm scared of that brutal cold it's about to unleash on all of us

  2. Whoohoo Hannah! Way to go...that is exciting and incredibly cool! Don't you just love those big orders? Definitely a spirit-lifter. A little while back I did a 4 piece sale that went to a coffee house in Australia ...haha..I was stoked (not nearly as awesome as your Dolce Gabana one though!).

Anyhow, loving this little gingham number with the mustard tights and plaid shoes. Your photos are always so breathtaking. I can't get over those blue skies and vivid colored flowers. That hotel certainly looks like a place I'd want to stay in!

Have an amazing Monday darling! xo Marisa

  8. yay I saw that on Insta and am still so happy for you!! That is so so amazing, even though like u said it's prob personal but seriously awesome bcuz just to work there would be impressive! Which items did she order? and i looove you outfit, i didnt think of ronald mcdonald at all haha bcuz it's just the shoes. i love the plaid shoes w/ the tights, give "sorta" a rough edge to that sweet dress. & i'll answer your question here since it's easy to miss replies since i dont use blogspot (thanks for writting it there btw)- i thought maybe you could just pin the item up to show how it would be if you hemmed and this could be you *BONUS, FREE HEMMING* catch because seriously that is an amazing deal and a lot of ppl have to pay for a hem after buying something vintage. and on the flipside, if someone would have liked it long just as well then that sucks you did the extra work of hemming. you could also offer a tiny extra fee for a custom length hem as well, like I might want it a tad longer than a few of yours because of my long thights/office dress code or could offer standard hems, as is, midi, or shorter. just my thoughts : )

We'll see how the night goes. This dress is TOO adorable. I'm just a sucker for anything gingham. And I love how you styled it with the yellow tights! And once again, congrats on the amazing order!
