Last week after seeing Ashley post a picture on instagram, I had to get my own Meowmaid pin from Albinohare on Etsy!  Half kitten, half mermaid, I really don't know what could be better.  I have not wanted to take this pin off since receiving the adorable package last week, so if you want an instant mood improver, I highly checking these little guys out here!

In the Navy {Makeover Monday}

Hello! Hope everyone is having a beautiful Memorial day relaxing with loved ones!

For this week's Makeover Monday, I took a capri and oversized blouse set and made them into shorts and a crop top.  I decided to style just the shorts for this post, as I wanted it to be a little different from the jungle set I made for last week's makeover!  The set will be in the shop this week!

I kept this outfit really low key as we were once again packing and moving some boxes over to R's mom's garage.  What drew me to this set in the first place was the beautiful stitching on the blouse and on the pockets of the shorts.  I love how these sets can be worn together or as separates too! The embroidered blouse would look so cute with a pair of denim high waisted shorts as well.

Also, this bag.... I'm not sure if I will be able to part with it!  I found it this weekend and its the first vintage coach bag I have ever come across in my weekend treasure hunting! It will be up in the shop if I can manage to pry it from my own fingers ;)

Flower Crown Giveaway - Last Day!

I am excited for the three day weekend even though it will be filled with work and more packing.  I still have high hopes though and am definitely packing my swimsuit when I head to Robs tonight, as his apartment's hot tub (and maybe pool?) are opened and we only have one more week to enjoy them.  Wanna know what else I am excited for?  NOT having to pack a million bags to head across town to Robs for the weekend when we officially move in together in a week!  I'm obviously excited for reasons other than convenience as well, but dragging my laundry, clothes, camera stuff, and whatever else back and forth all the time is getting pretty old. Hooray for summer and new beginnings!

Jungle Fever {Makeover Monday!}

Hello and happy Monday! Hope you guys are ready for another little clothing makeover I did recently! 

Sometimes when I am on the hunt for vintage treasures for the shop, I spot something that is quite frumpy in its current form, but then an idea pops into my head about how to spruce it up for the modern day gal.  So was the case with this Jungle Parrot print blouse and shorts set.  I instantly fell in love with the wild print and knew it would look even cuter as a crop top and high waisted shorts set.  Then, the idea to add pom pom fringe came to me and the rest is crazy.  Beware, this makeover is not for the feint of heart ;)

    Anyway, this outfit may be more appropriate for a tropical beach than the mountain road trip we took this weekend, but you've got to work with what you've got.  And here in Colorado, there's no beach in sight (unfortunately).  To do this makeover, I took up the length of the blouse and the shorts a few inches each, hemmed them on my sewing machine, and then added the pom pom fringe mostly by hand, since my sewing machine wasn't being very cooperative.  I got the pom poms from Jo Ann Fabrics, and now am thinking about a whole line of cute crop top with pom pom fringe for the shop.  What do you guys think? If only I could figure out how to make my machine cooperate with the thick materials a bit more, because this took me hours and hours to do by hand!

Shop Update - Two Piece Sets!

Each season I have had my vintage shop, I get set on new trends to try and stock the shop with.  For spring and summer, I have been loving two piece sets with crop tops and midi skirts! Pink Paisley + Yellow Freesia

The weeks until our move somehow seem to be fluctuating between crawling slowly and flying by, depending on what day you ask me.  The countdown is just about at the two week mark now, and the excitedness about moving is being replaced by the reality of logistics - packing your whole life into boxes (if you're R) and garbage bags (if you're me) in the span of a few weeks.  Trying to beat the stress by donning the happiest of colors. Oh and guzzling coffee.

When I posted an outfit Monday standing in front of this colorful bush, my mom email me to tell me its a Freesia bush.  It smells wonderful and the billowing yellow branches almost disguise the fact that I am basically just standing in the parking lot of R's apartment complex! The pretty pink paisley pleated (P's!) dress, the woven belt, and the turquoise sweater are all in the shop right now - I love when I end up in all vintage!   Anyway, I hope you are all having a great week!
