Primary Plaids

I promise this week is the last of the vacation pictures- I think there is only one more round to go! A lot of you have mentioned being jealous of the warmth, and let me tell you- you and me both now that I have been back in Colorado for a week!

Outfit Details
Dress: Converse/ Gift from Mom
Sandals: Sandals: BC Footwear via Swell
Head Scarf  & Lace Blouse: Vintage/ thrifted
The little peach colored house in the background of a few of these is the place my family rented in Kauai for the week.  I really love renting homes or apartments when traveling instead of hotels because you usually get more space and a more local experience, a lot of times for a fraction of the price!  Though, there is definitely something to be said for a pretty hotel too since it usually comes with many more amenities like restaurants and swimming pools! Which would you prefer?
I got this cute little plaid dress for Christmas from my mom and its going to be such a fun piece to remix! I decided to layer a vintage blouse underneath because it was a bit  rainy (oh and because my back was super sun burnt and streaky because I'm an a-hole. Thank goodness for the abundant aloe vera bushes growing in the front yard!)  And speaking of remixes, I would love if you would come and check out my post on the Flock Together blog I did today!
Have a beautifiul day!

  1. I love the lace paired with plaid! Very cute. :)

And I have stayed in hostels (and once stayed with my ex-boyfriend's family in an apartment in Paris for Christmas), but I haven't ever rented a place while vacationing myself. I should look into that!

  4. I love the combo of the lace and plaid dress! I have to admit that I am a bit jealous of your sandals - it's so cold in Oklahoma today :)

P.S. Thanks so much for visiting my blog!

  5. I love the vintage lacey top layered underneath and your bright, beautiful headband! I think renting a place can definitely be a funner experience! It all depends though cuz hotels can be great too depending on where you stay :)

  7. this outfit is so cute, I especially love the scarf in your hair, such a perfect pop of colour. I honestly don't know which I prefer, hotel or renting a house. As I'm only 16, I go wherever my parents go. As you said, there's pros and cons on both sides. :D

  8. I love the lace top with the dress, this outfit is so pretty! And I really like the bright shoes! It adds the perfect amount of color to this outfit :) hmm I like renting an apartment or something whenever I go on a skiing trip but if it's to a city, I prefer a hotel but it's probably because it's easier to find a hotel in a city anyways and like you said, SWIMMING POOLS!

  9. I use to have a dress that fit JUST like this way back when (2006!) and I LOVE this one on you. MAkes me wonder why I ever got rid of mine. And I don't mind your Hawaii photos at all, I like that they are spread out - plus, I myself like taking photos on vacation in warm, sunny, places rather than trying to squeeze them in in the cold at home!

  17. This is a fun remix. It has a bit of a school-girl-with-a-twist vibe to it with the shirt layered under the plaid.
