Makeover Monday: Denim Jumper

Just stopping in really quick to share a little vintage makeover from a few weeks back!  I love how simply taking up the hem of a dress makes it a whole new piece.  This denim pinafore is actually on its way to Norway now!  Wish I could follow my vintage all over the world!
Have a great start to your week!

The Sound of Music

Today I am channeling "The Sound of Music".  I am no expert on this, as I am not even sure I have ever sat through that whole movie, but I do remember seeing it on Broadway as a child and remember specifically that I was not highly amused.  Anyway, I think its the pinafore-type dress over the blouse look that made me think of it. That and the whole "always standing in a field" thing...  Is this me or what?! No? Okay
Outfit Details: Blouse - c/o Persunmall // Dress - vintage, for sale in the shop here! //
Shoes - vintage, thrifted

I wore this outfit to work on Monday and all of the bright happy colors definitely helped to eliminate those Monday blues.  This dress used to be long and frumpy but I thought it had great potential with the colorful plaid bottom, chambray top, and floral embroidery.  Its pretty much all of my favorite things all in one spot!  Anyway, I took up the hem and its now for sale in the shop :)
I just received this sheer blouse in the mail from the lovely people over at Persunmall.  I will have to style it again soon because the dress covered some of the prettiness, but I love that the flowers create on ombre affect down the front of the blouse and sleeves.  Unfortunately, I think its sold out on the site right now but they have a ton of pretty chiffon blouses to choose from!
I hope you guys are having  a good week! I think I am planning a last minute camping trip this weekend since I haven't been yet this summer, so excited!

Black Jumper

Hi guys!   Sorry, I have been kind of missing in the blogosphere lately.  I am currently sitting at the Denver airport eating grapefruit, watching a lightning storm, and waiting for my flight to New Jersey!  I am super excited to see friends and family, but its going to be a very long day.  Anyway, I thought since I had free wifi and a few extra minutes, I should probably put up a post before I go into vacation mode!
Outfit Details: Dress - Borrowed from Leah // Blouse - vintage // Shoes - Mojo Moxy via DSW

I borrowed this amazing jumper dress from Leah of We Live Upstairs.  These kind of dreary pictures were taken after work one day so pardon the tired looking Hannah, and focus on Leah's awesome dress!  Thanks so much for letting me borrow it Leah! I seriously loved that you could pair it with any sort of color or style blouse underneath.  You can see how Leah wore her dress here and here!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week! And a shout out to my brother Noah who just graduated college, which is the reason I am going home to New Jersey- celebrations are in order!

Charcoal Alley

Happy Hump Day. Is it me or is this week crawling along slow as molasses!?  I think it is due to the fact that I finally joined a gym again and getting back into working out is always quite tortuous for me!  If I go before work, I feel extra tired at work all day and the day stretches on and on.  If I go after work, it cuts into my precious "down time".  How do you guys typically fit exercising into you busy schedules?!
Outfit Details: Dress & Blouse- Vintage // Boots: Marshalls (old) // Hat: Target

Enough whining from me.  All winter I have been loving any sort of jumper style dress that I can layer a blouse beneath.  I decided to give this charcoal grey maxi jumper a go before I took up the hem and put it in the shop!  The look is a bit out of the ordinary for me, but it was really comfy and appropriate to wear to work.  I can't wait to style the shortened version after I hem it too, it would be fun to see both looks side by side!
I decided to fore go my usual preference of nature backdrops to a more appropriate one for this sort of 90s grunge look.  There are a bunch of cool little alleyways between buildings here in downtown boulder and I love all the brick and signs for old storefronts! And you all know how I like to match my outfits to my surroundings!
Anyway, hope your work week (or school week) is flying by a bit faster than mine!

New Coat Tackles Winter Blues

Hip hip hooray its Friday!
You guys know I am a sucker for pretty scenery, but sometimes time doesn't allow for a trek to a scenic backdrop just for outfit photos.  I snapped these in my back yard before heading to work earlier this week, because I wanted to show off this pretty vintage coat I thrifted last weekend! There's nothing like a new coat to help tackle those winter blues! It's warm and its plaid and it has gorgeous gold buttons and blue velvet pockets!  I am pretty sure it was actually a children's coat because it is marked as a size 14 XL and the arms are a tiny bit too short.  But for $12.99 and my dream print, I'll take it!
 Outfit Details:
Plaid Coat & Boots: Vintage // thrifted
Tights & Scarf: Target
White Blouse: Converse
I wanted to thank everyone for your nice words and helpful advice about the lull in my Etsy shop I wrote about in the last post.  It's seriously so nice to sometimes use this blog as a virtual sounding board to bounce ideas off of and get advice from all you lovely gals, and the shop is already starting to look up again!  This adorable little red corduroy jumper is one of the items I recently added to the shop for valentines day! It even has a tiny polka dot print on it and little pin-wheel flowers. Pairing a collared shirt over a sleeveless dress or jumper has been pretty much my favorite thing to wear to work this winter as the collared shirt makes it a little more dressy and the layers add some extra warmth!
Any fun plans for the weekend? I am planning on going on a little adventure either into Rocky Mountain National Park or a day trip to Denver, we haven't quite decided yet! I just feel like wandering around a bit going into shops, exploring, and eating yummy food! Have a wonderful weekend!
