Chambray + Happiness Boutique

Hi guys!
So much going on right now! I survived my first real week of work at the new job! Still getting used to the 11+ hour days (ouch my feet!), but the three days off during the week will surely be a nice perk once I get used to it.  On top of the new job, we are also moving to a new town nearby next week, as our landlord has decided to sell our house.  It's definitely bittersweet, but I'm always up for a new adventure!

Temporary Tattoo - c/o Siideways

A couple weeks ago, the sweet people over at Happiness Boutique reached out to me to see if I wanted to style one of their beautiful pieces of statement jewelry.  They are a cute vintage-inspired company based out of Germany and once I took a look at their site I couldn't wait to pick something out!  I was having a hard time choosing between all of the pretty styles so I even asked R to help me pick a favorite, and this is the one that ultimately won out.

The awesome thing about statement necklaces like this is you can literally be wearing jeans and a white tee and just add this and you will instantly feel more unique and put together!  I'm also wearing one of the awesome hand-drawn temporary tattoos from the Etsy shop Siideways Tattoos.  I've been having so much fun playing around with them and testing out all of the beautiful vintage floral styles.

Anyway, please bear with me in these next two weeks while I attempt to move, get the hang of my new job, and get my life a bit more settled! As always, thanks for reading!

Bell Sleeved

Hi guys! Well, a lot has happened in the last week. Most of you who have read my blog for awhile probably know that I am quite the animal lover - cats especially!  Which is why I am super excited to be starting a new job next week as an adoption specialist for the humane society!  Its going to be so amazing to help animals find their new forever homes, and I am going to do my best to not bring them all home with me.

This past week I have been trying out these beautiful vintage floral temporary tattoos from fellow Etsy seller Siideways.   The sweet shop owner Elizabeth hand draws, paints, or digitally designs each one herself.  I do not have any permanent tattoos myself but have always really loved them, and this is such a cool way to try something out for a few days with no commitment!  She has so many beautiful vintage floral designs, which are my personal favorite.  This is the one I am wearing here! And how cute is this new one she just designed with a kitten with roses- definitely next on my wishlist!  Everyone at the new job would definitely thing I'm legit if I roll in with a kitten tattoo! You can even get custom designs made for special occasions, which is so cool! If you end up trying one for yourself, let me know, I want to see which one is your favorite!

So when the new job confirmed that I will start next week, I immediately went into my typical wanderlust mode and bought a ticket for a last minute trip to Miami.  I leave tomorrow!  I will be visiting a good friend from high school who I have seriously promised to visit for the last TEN years since she moved out there to go to college.  Can't wait to lay in the sunshine for a few days, get dressed up, and eat tacos!  Does anyone have any favorite places/ recommendations?

Blackberry Maverick

A real blog post on a Monday morning... guys, its a miracle!  Today I am super excited to introduce you to a new favorite local shop of mine called Blackberry Maverick.  Its a shop that perfectly blends the classic vintage feel of the 50s with the boldness of the 80s, all meticulously handmade for the modern day gal by two lovely ladies in Denver!

Scarf - c/o Oasap
Wedges - thrifted
Bracelet - diy

So let's talk about the dress! I couldn't resist this floaty ethereal number from their S/S 2015 collection "Stormy Sweets".  I love how this dress is kind of the best of both worlds combining a mini length lining with a maxi length silhouette.  With evening clouds rolling in behind the sugary pink and purple colorblocked color palette, I think these photos totally ended up going along well with the "Stormy Sweets" theme too!  My perfect dress is one where I feel pretty, but most importantly, comfortable in, and this definitely fit the bill.  Later this week I'll be back to introduce you to Lex and Leslie, the awesome gals behind Blackberry Maverick so stay tuned!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Earth Soil Land // Jord Watches

With the continued grey skies and downpours in our usually sunny state of Colorado, I have found myself in a style rut.  I'll put on an outfit just for the sake of blog photos, when I've really been stuck inside feeling uninspired in baggy tees and leggings.  But then sometimes something new arrives in the mail, and I find myself re-inspired, drawing out new outfit ideas and throwing dresses out of my closet like a madwoman.  So was the case when this beautiful new watch arrived in the mail on Monday from Jord watches.

Vintage Dress - for sale in the shop here!
Wood Watch - c/o JORD
Succulent Crown - handmade - in the shop today!
Heels - Bait Footwear

I was a little hesitant at first when Jord reached out to see if I would like to try out one of their wooden watches, only because I am honestly not a huge watch person.  Most watches I find are too flashy or ill-fitting to be comfortable on a daily basis, which was why I was pleasantly surprised by my experience with Jord.  I loved the low key, more androgynous style options that they offered and you can have your watch sized by them to fit you perfectly.  Inspired by the fact that JORD means earth, soil, or land in Swedish, I decided to don a vintage floral dress from the shop, handmade floral crown, and mossy green shoes to complete the look I was going for.

Needless to say, I may have been converted to a daily watch wearer, and the company itself was refreshingly honest, kind, and easy to work with.  I am wearing their Fieldcrest style, which I would highly recommend, but also love the Ely in Maple.  And definitely check out their amazing sizing options and measurement guide, because the fact that the watch actually fits perfectly made all the difference!

And in other news, I just created a small limited edition batch of these succulent bridal crowns, which will be in my shop later today - I am so excited about them!  Hope you guys are having an amazing week!

Campfire Yellow

My favorite outfits are ones where I am super comfortable but still feel pulled together, and this is totally one of those outfits.  This is also a new favorite because it features the work of two amazing fellow Etsy sellers, Salvage and Stone and Two Sting Jane!

Outfit Details:
Campfire Headband - c/o Salvage and Stone
Hanger Tank -giveaway, Two String Jane
Yellow Duster - c/o Oasap
Pants - Marshalls
Heels - thrifted
Purse - vintage

This beautiful headband was handmade from recycled fabric by Nic Young, Owner and maker behind Etsy shop Salvage and Stone.  I absolutely love that this one is aptly named the "Campfire Headband" and its so perfect for fall.  I usually find wearing hair accessories gives me a headache pretty quickly, but this is made of a soft jersery fabric and it was super comfortable on my head.  There is still one left of this same print in her shop, and I promise you won't be disappointed if you decide to swoop one up!  Nic also writes a blog by the same name, so make sure to go and say hello!

Next up we have this awesome tank I got in the mail from self-taught designer Alyssa Zukas who runs the awesome Etsy apparel shop Two String Jane.  I actually won the tank in an instagram giveaway she was hosting, and its one  of the most comfortable pieces of clothing I now own.  Let's just say I may or may not have slept in it last night as well! There are so many more things I have on my wishlist from her shop right now, including this Bon Appetit hand stenciled sweatshirt and this Confetti Dots tee!  Seriously, you won't regret taking a peak at her designs.

Gosh you guys, Etsy and handmade things are just the best!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Watermelon Coconut

Ah, Monday.  Can't say I'm super happy to see you!  One of the things that often helps get me through a long week is waiting for fun mail to arrive, as was the case with these amazing sunglasses from Kameleonz that arrived a few days ago.

Outfit Details:
"Coconut" Sunnies - c/o Kameleonz
Red Oxfords - c/o American Apparel
Woven Bracelet - Mitla Moda
Skirt + Suspenders - thrifted
Boater Hat - Brixton via Karmaloop
Watermelon Tank - Target (girls)

If you've been reading my blog for more than five seconds, you know that I love me some cute sunnies. My collection is ever growing and I love how they can instantly change the look of an outfit.  Cat eyes make for a retro look, oversized round frames make me feel like some sort of celebrity, and these clear mirrored pair from Kameleonz make me feel like I'm headed to the beach!  Plus with product names like Coconut, Lava, and North Shore, they immediately make me feel like I am with my one true love... Hawaii!

What really makes this pair stand out for me over the other sunglasses I own though is the fact that they have interchangeable arms that you can switch in and out to match whatever you're wearing.  Here I am wearing the clear Coconut pair with "hemlock green" arms, but they also came with clear and tangerine arms that I can swap in whenever it suits my fancy.  Kameleonz is also offering everyone 20% off right now with the code SUMMER at checkout :)

These arrived just in time for me to take camping this weekend, but unfortunately they were unnecessary, as it was raining and overcast a huge part of the time.  Oh well, we still tried to make the best of it!  Have a great start to your week!
