A day in Siracusa, Sicily

Hi guys, long time no see!  I've finally had a productive day off, shipping orders and cleaning my office and thought I'd post another overdue update from my trip to Sicily last month.  These photos were taken on a day R and I wandered around the old part of Siracusa called Ortygia.  Definitely one of the prettiest old cities and favorite days of the trip!

Outfit Details:
Dress - vintage
Tote - Baggu
Scarf - Charlotte Russe
Hat - Eddie Bauer
Sandals - Clarks

Winding alleys, crumbling ruins, and an adorable Sicilian boy playing the accordion in front of a church with a pimp cup out.  I wish I had taken photos of the little apartment we rented here.  If you are planning a trip here any time soon, definitely let me know because I would highly recommend the place we stayed! How have you guys been, I wish there were more hours in the day to catch up on blogs!  Hope everyone is doing well!

Taormina Villa (Sicily Travel Journal Pt. 1)

Hi Friends,
Back from vacation now, wahhhh!  Had an amazing time exploring Sicily the past two weeks though and thought I would share an outfit and a few photos from the trip.  These were all taken on the grounds of a beautiful villa hotel next to an apartment we were renting in Taormina.  It looked so pretty at dusk it was like a fairytale.

Anyway, back to the real world now.  I am about to crawl in bed and its not even 7pm yet, but an 8 hour time difference will do that to you!  Work should be interesting in the morning... What have you guys been up to?!

Venice (Italy Travel Journal Pt7)

Since I am about to leave for my next adventure this weekend, I thought I best FINALLY wrap up my previous travel photos from Italy.  And I've got to say,  Venice may have been my favorite place of all (though I think it may be a tie with Positano).  Let's just say I'm a pretty big sucker for water and pretty colorful buildings, which both places share, though they are very different!

Dressed like a hobo trying to stay warm and dry.
Evening gondola service.
Nighttime market
Striped and ready to row!
The view from the bedroom window of our apartment!
Apartment view 2.
A gull friend on the rialto bridge.
Meeting up with my friend Diane, whom I studied abroad with in Mexico in 2007!
One of my favorite shots from the whole time.  Pops of color on a dreary day.
Twinkling lights invite you in from the rain.
 The Rialto Bridge
Pretty Chairs
Rainy day boats.
 Me!
Mom and Dad!
Pink Street Lights
PIZZA PIZZA PIZZA!
Mom and dad, dancing in the rain to an orchestra!

I know that was a LOT more photos than I usually post and my apologies if that killed your computer speed, but I just could not narrow it down!  Venice was two days of exploring in the rain with my camera, with intermissions for pizza and wine.  Does it get any better?!  Hope you enjoyed the last of my Italy photos!

Florence at Dusk

Our second to last stop on our Italian adventure was Florence, and we arrived right before dusk.  The balcony of the apartment we were renting was what dreams are made of, which is where the outfit shots were taken.  Unfortunately, I had my camera on the wrong setting when my mom was helping me snap some quick outfit photos up there, so most of them just came out as blurs.  The terra cotta rooftops were gorgeous though and you could even make out the Duomo in the background!
Outfit Details:
Sweatshirt: Marshalls
Dress - Vintage (in the shop here!)
Sneakers - New Balance
Beanie - Forever 21
Sunnies - Italian Street Vendor

We only had one full day there, so the evening we arrived, we scrambled across the river and up the hill to a gorgeous vantage point where you could see the whole city at dusk.  I'm glad we did, because the whole next day it was a torrential downpour as we attempted to explore the city, which turned into a grey sea accentuated by color umbrellas (on instagram here!)  We also got to see the statue of David, but I only had my phone camera with me because of the rain!

Last up on the adventure is possibly my favorite, Venice, so stay tuned!
