Hot Pink Hibiscus

I know I know, every Monday all everyone has to say is how very short the weekend was.  But this one seemed extra super duper short!  I think it also passed 100 degrees in temperature, so this is what I wore for a quick trip to the pool.

Outfit Details:
Dress - c/o August Wrinkle
Sunnies - c/o Sunglass Warehouse
Woven Bracelet - Mitla Moda (similar)
Sandals - hand-me-downs
Necklace - handmade by me!

This dress definitely could be dressed up and seem fancy, but the light floaty layers and hot pink color make it a perfect pool cover up too.  I paired it with a pair of folding sunglasses from Sunglass Warehouse (they literally fold up until their pocket -sized!), a matching woven fair trade bracelet from Mitla Moda, and a neon fringe necklace I made.
In high school and through college, I actually had my own small jewelry line called Tropichannah (get it... Tropicana... tropic hannah...okay then).  I had a little shop on Etsy and also made custom pieces and sets for special occasions, like bridesmaids jewelry for two of my cousins weddings.  I then moved to Colorado, started my career in the environmental field, and my hobby fell a bit to the wayside.  But now that I run my vintage shop full time, I am having a really good time getting back into some of my favorite creative passions, and am actually planning on launching a handmade shop on Etsy in the next few months too! This actually has been a plan in the works for awhile now, but since I am wearing a fringe necklace that would be in the shop, I thought it seemed like a good time to mention it here!  The handmade shop will also have a charitable component as well, with a portion of proceeds being donated to a cause I feel very passionately about - can anyone guess?! Anyway, let me know what you think, and if you have ideas for other colors your would like to see, etc., I would love to hear!

  1. 1) Tropichannah = the best name ever!
    2) you look gorgeous in this dress!
    3) the bright pink of the summery dress is so fun w/ the bright woven bracelet : ).
    4) that necklace you made is gorgeous, def looking forward to seeing your Etsy shop on this! I also think you could have it in your existing shop w/ a handmade category instead of vintage if you wanted to leverage the publicity/traffic you already have there, although I know some ppl prefer to separate things as well & either way it'll be great!
    5) that seems REALLY hot for what ya'll are used to in CO! and
    6) the cause will involve kitties!

  2. Aaah, your shop sounds like a wonderful idea! I'm so very glad you're deciding to give some to charity, too.

The looser the layers in summer, the better. Somehow it hasn't hit 100 degrees here yet--oh gaud, I hope you're surviving out there! The hot pink is so fruity and refreshing. :D

  10. Ah thats such an awesome necklace, I love the Native American Vibe it has. Also its easy to let hobbies fall to the wayside but I definitely think its great you are getting back to them. Im sure with owning one etsy shop it'll be easy to transition into a new one. And you look beautiful as always!
