I am feeling like I am in a pretty good groove this week so far. I don't know about you guys, but when I have a good schedule down for the week it helps with everything, including my mood. I have also been trying to eat healthy before my trip and ride my bike to work everyday, which is exhausting but in the end makes me feel better! (Sometimes a large 5 dollar pizza from Little Caesars make me feel better too, but I digress).
Oufit Details:
Shoes: Vintage- will be in the shop soon!
Dress: Vintage - gift from a friend!
Crown - thrifted/ DIY
Purse - Gift from mom from Taiwan!
Nail Polish - Hard Candy
Anyway, my best friend Rachel sent me a package last week, and it was full of amazing vintage goodies including this dress! I am in love with the tiny polka dots and the cut makes me feel like such a lady! I really do miss my friends from home a ton, they are the best! I feel like it takes a lot of time and effort to make and keep good girl friends, something I really need to work on more out here in Colorado. I am also wearing the coolest and cutest purse in the history of the universe, if I do say so myself. My mom brought it back from Taiwan for me. In case you are blind and could not tell, its a little fish bag and is the perfect size for my cellphone, lip balm, and some cash when you don't want to carry around a big bag. I didn't get a good picture, but there is also a tiny smaller fish inside with a little zipper mouth that is an attached coin purse. AH, the cuteness!
On the last note of my list of very important things besides my polka dot dress and fish purse, I am considering chopping all of my hair off. Well not all of it, but to about shoulder length! I have been wanting to change something for a long time, and the thought of not having my long hair honestly scares the bejesus out of me, but that is kind of the reason I want to do it. I feel like I never go much out of my comfort zone with my look, and I am 25 years old and have never in my life had short hair before! Have any of you ever cut a lot off? I actually donated 11 inches to locks of love while I was in college, but it still wasn't above my shoulders! If you guys have any advice (besides plain old "don't cut it"), I would love to here your stories! Here's to stepping out of the box!
xo Hannah
Great shoes, and i agree that is a great little bag! I used to have long hair and then I cut it very short into a bob when I was in college. I was really happy with it but then wanted it back and now I like it that kind of middle length like Alexa Chung has. I think go for it. You could always go and have a bit cut off and then a month later have some more done, lessen the impact!
ReplyDeleteDon't cut it!! :p I'm kidding! I LOOOVE long hair! I just recently cut 10" and sent it to locks of love. I'm really happy about my new cut and the change, but I'm excited to have long hair again. You should totallycut it and donate it (again), if you're up for it. It's such a great cause!

Ah, I love this whole outfit! Seriously, the polka dots, the fish bag, the forest green shoes... absolute perfection. And I think you should definitely cut your hair, it's such a nice change! I cut off and donated 10 inches in high school and it was so liberating.
ReplyDeleteThat fish purse is adorable! So cute and colourful. As for hair, mine is the longest it's ever been in my life right now, and while I like it, I think of going back to short. I'm not going to right now because it took so long to grow, but having short hair was very nice too. I wore a pixie cut for years and really liked it. I think you'll be happy for the change.

You look adorable! The dress is lovely, the crown and the purse are to die for<3

loving that nail polish girl! you always look so cute xoxo
ReplyDeleteFirstly, your fish purse is super cute! Secondly, I can commiserate with being scared to cut your hair. Last year I cut my hair really short and donated a foot of it. I was FREAKED when my hairdresser held up my pony tail and instantly regretted my decision...for like 10 minutes. Having shorter hair made me realize how much I would hide behind my long hair. A shorter length made me feel free and now I don't think I could ever go back to super long (mid-back) hair again. And as always, hair grows back and it's the furthest thing from permanent :)
ReplyDeletethank you so much! you're comments are always so supportive- I need to be better about responding onto other blogs since I haven't set up a way that notifies people if I answer. That fish purse is the cutest and those green suede shoes are the best! When I chopped my hair off I took baby steps and cut it like 4 inches then waited a month, then cut off another 4, etc. I was scared but now I like it! I think you'd look really cute with shoulder or chin length hair! go for it!
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous... I love the addition of the floral crown to this! Also, I hear you, sometimes eating healthy is the key to happiness, other times it's pizza. Although eating half a pound of cheese last night doesn't seem to have done me much good... :D
ReplyDeleteAhhh love love love your floral crown!

I love your dress and floral crown, so pretty, and that bag...I want a fish bag! About cutting hair...I cut mine off (went from hair just slightly shorter than yours to an Michelle Williams style crop). It look a while to get used to but I absolutely loved it, it was such a nice change, and so low maintenence. I kept it for about two years, then decided last summer to start growing it out...it involved alot of pretty clips, but I finally got past that growing out stage and my hair is now below my shoulders. I love my longer hair, BUT I'm so glad I did it. Hope that helps in some way! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so far behind in blog posts and in life in general lately, it's not even funny. Again Hannah, you've knocked it out of the park with a perfect outfit. You are simply a genius at accessorizing and putting the prettiest pieces together. I adore everything here!
ReplyDeleteYour hair is gorgeous to say the least but I would definitely say go for chopping it off at least once in your life - it's quite a liberating feeling...hehe, as dramatic as that sounds! I've done this 3 times to be exact - the last time, right after I got married. My hair was half way down my back and I got it cut to right above lip length into a retro - Louise Brooks kind of bob and I absolutely loved it. Boy was my hubs surprised to come home from work and find me with short hair...hehe. Anyhow, though it's a big change, keep in mind it always grows back and if you hate it that much, you could always get the clip in extensions. Hope that helps:) Have a lovely week darling! xo Marisa
Glad you're taking the plunge, I can't wait to see your new hair! And yes, you must have Pimms. And you must have it with strawberries, mint, raspberries, orange, cucumber and lemon...eating the alcohol soaked fruit afterwards is half the fun :)
ReplyDeleteYes, your purse is pretty freaking awesome! I've never seen anything like it.
ReplyDeleteIn your next photos, I wanna see you twirl in a gorgeous dress like that!
Sincerely,
Sabrina

Such a cute pair of shoes! x
ReplyDeleteThe fish bag is so adorable and the little coin purse sounds even cuter!
ReplyDeleteGosh your brave taking the decision to possibly cut your hair! I had long hair all my life, until I had a holiday booked to Florida, and thought theres no way I can have this long hair,it'll get in the way and be so hot.
So I braved it and got it chopped of above my shoulders!:D I have to say it was scary but also kind of liberating and a nice change,I felt different and it was fun to play around with new styles. and hair does grow and it seems to grow back alot quicker when its short, probably cos it was healthier with no split ends :D
Thats brilliant you donated 11 inches of hair, thats incredible! Look forward to seeing what you decide :)
And of course, before I forget I love your new vintage dress, and the floral head band, looks beautiful x
Hope you had a wonderful weekend and thanks for your sweet comment.

I def had that same feeling about choping my hair and went sort of a middle ground like you but it was a good change that needed to happen to get it healthy again. anyway, I love that little dress on you, you look darling! That little crown is great, did you thrift the components & put it together? Where are you originally from btw? Def is always tough to make new close friends, something I keep telling myself I'll make an effort at.
