Oh My Darlin'

You guys, I'm just loving all the pretty scenery around our new place!  It's not that Boulder did not have pretty scenery - it most definitely did - but in the new town, things are a bit more rural and remote.  It makes heading out to snap photos without being seen or bothered a way easier process!

Outfit Details
Vtg Pinafore - in the shop here!
Vtg Straw Hat - thrifted
Vtg Purse - my moms
Sunnies - c/o Sunglass Warehouse
Metallic Shoes - Modcloth

This vintage pinafore from the shop is what summer dreams are made of.  Its red and white gingham with a fruit and flower print, so I gladly jumped at the chance to style it before someone undoubtedly snaps it up quickly! I paired it with a new-to-me straw hat I thrifted the other day, which will also be in the shop soon.  As for the shoes, I (virtually) grabbed them in Modcloth's most recent super sale and they are so much fun!  I'm just going to pretend the shiny metallic copper color is a neutral and wear them with everything.

Hope you're having a great week!

A Stylish Surprise (or 2!)

Happy Saturday!
For the first time ever, I actually caught the Stylish Surprise promotion that Modcloth does every once in awhile!  For those of you who are unaware of what this is, basically you pay $10 and they send you a surprise item of clothing in your size.  And while I rarely buy items new these days, I couldn't resist the element of surprise and ordered two!

I received these two super fun dresses, both of which fit perfectly. The first one has a graphic highway sign print by the brand Retrolicious and I am in love with it!  The second dress by Minuet is a bit more fancy and girly than my typical style, but I actually ended up really liking it as well.  I think it will be great for a fun date night out or a summer wedding!
Have any of you ordered a Stylish Surprise from Modcloth or and sort of grab bag item from any other company in the past?  I would love to hear about it!

When Life Gives You Lemons

Happy Friday!
I love this dress, but do not love these pictures. With all the rain we got in Hawaii this year, my lens kept on fogging up when going from outdoors to indoors, and most of these pictures fell victim to this. Oh well! My brother got me this RVCA lemon dress that I have long been lusting after for Christmas!  And my mom got me the cute little round straw bag and these adorable green shoes from Modcloth.  This was actually what I wore out to a little local Kauai bar for New Years Eve too, but I did not get a chance to take pictures that night. I was too busy doing a few too many Sake Bombs with my mother.

Anyway.  These were taken inside of the house we rented near the North Shore of Oahu.  It was right on the beach, or more accurately, right in the ocean since there was only a teeny tiny strip of beach left in front!  What usually would have turned out to be an amazing location proved to unfortunately be super windy and rainy, but we soon figured out if we drove to the beaches a bit North, the weather was much calmer.  These are from the upstairs living room, and I just loved the rows of books and beachy curiosities!
I thought I'd include a snap of my mom and I too, especially since she is wearing the skirt I got her for Christmas :) Hi mom! Back to wintery Colorado posts next week! Have a great weekend!

Kilauea Lighthouse

Aloha & Happy Friday!
Yesterday, we took an inter-island flight to Oahu and then drove to the North Shore to the house we are renting for the week.  These pictures, however, are from our last day on Kauai when we drove to Kilauea Lighthouse and wildlife refuge.  Though the weather was not the greatest, the lighthouse itself was still beautiful and the views were even better along the coastline.  There were multiple species of seabirds flying around and we even got to see the Hawaiian Nene goose and its babies.  Heres a fun fact.  When we used to visit Hawaii when we were kids, my brother Noah saw a Nene goose and decided he would not respond to any other name but "Nene" from then on.  To this day I still call my brother "Nini" or "bird" more than his actual name!

Floral Crown: DIY
Lace Top: Vintage
Shorts: Thrifted
Glasses: Firmoo
Anyway, I got this adorable Modcloth sweater from my wishlist for Christmas and I absolutely love it!  I had to wear my yellow floral crown to match the braided yellow piping on the sweater and decided on a little black and white print mixing as well.  I rarely wear shorts as I usually prefer a comfy sun dress, but it was a welcome change, especially on such a windy day.  And speaking of wind, our new place on Oahu is RIGHT on the beach, but its been so windy that its kind of scary to even go outside.  I hope the weather lets up for this last part of vacation! Wishing you all a happy Friday and a great weekend! Any fun plans for the first weekend of the new year?
