Just checking in quickly to say hi. I have been so busy and apologize
if you have left a comment or sent me an email recently that I have not
replied to yet. This is my 8th day of work in a row (four more to go!)
so I am falling a little behind on things, but I promise to try to catch
up with you all this week!
Outfit Details:
Mint Jeans: c/o American Apparel
Shoes: MIA Pampa Desert Wedges via DSW
Necklace: Vintage
Bracelets: The Plaid Barn
Top: a local boutique
I am not thrilled with these pictures even though I thought it was a fun colorful outfit. We were headed out to dinner Friday night and didn't really plan a good picture spot, just pulled over in a neighborhood on the way and snapped a few pictures. One of the things I really love about this blog is getting to plan out different locations and plotting the overall aesthetics when taking outfit pictures. I guess what I have to realize though is if I am to keep up with a fashion and lifestyle blog, not everything can be shot in some special location. There sometimes just isn't enough time in the day, and photos need to be snapped wherever you actually happen to be! Do any of you come across this problem of always wanting a scenic backdrop, but not always having enough resources or time?
Anyway, R jokingly said we should just snap the pictures inside the Mexican restaurant we were heading to. When we got there, I had to laugh, because I matched the inside perfectly! Tropical parrots and beach scenes galore in oranges and aquas! I seriously camouflaged into our booth so well you probably could only see a floating head.
I am loving these new minty American Apparel jeans. If you are looking for a high waisted pair for fall (or really any season), they have these in a bunch of different colors and are well made in a nice, stretchy material. But, I am never wearing them to eat
Mexican food ever again! After about half of my plate of mole enchiladas, I could not take another bite in fear of not being able
to breathe! (Mole [moe-lay] as in a type of Mexican sauce containing chillies and chocolate, not the small blind marsupial.) Can you tell I'm tired?
Hope you all had a great weekend! More soon.
xo Hannah
p.s. I think I should do a post on my most awkward poses. That last photo is definitely going to be in that post.
love these colors together and love that necklace! great outfit for a night out. xo
ReplyDeletelove mint and orange together! such a great combo!
ReplyDeletecute boots too! :)
This definitely is a fun, colorful outfit- Mexican restaurant inspired or not! Those jeans are just wonderful and I love the accessories. Ahaha I'm totally with you about doing an "awkward photos" post, don't even get me started.
ReplyDeletehaha that's funny. No problem with matching the restaurant haha. I love the minty fresh pants with that top!
ReplyDeletei get so behind on things too! working + traveling has me coming home to so many comments and blogs to catch up on! haha.
ReplyDeleteit took me awhile to get in the groove of outfit photos. i love to find cute areas, and i really get nervous sometimes about it though. it takes time, i have to set up a tripod or my husband, and often things go astray. for awhile i was pretty nervous, and i took lots of photos on my porch at lunch, especially when i was at work and it was winter. now i found that only taking photos on friday/saturday/sunday or just saturday/sunday and a weekday that works and carefully planning i am a lot more comfortable and have more time for it. unless my tripod breaks. or i forget my card. etc. etc.
i always have lots of awkward photos!
and indeed - your outfit is adorable. you've got a pretty neighborhood! and i LOVE those mint jeans - so pretty on you - and your necklace is adorable.

Those jeans are awesome! I'd love to have a pair like that. The high-waisted fit is so cute. I really love the color combination in this outfit too.
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing in those jeans! love that the necklace brings the whole outfit together! Can't wait to shop your shop!
ReplyDeleteI love the colour combination, and those jeans are so fantastic - I've always wanted to get jeans in mint green or pink but I feel like pale colours might make my butt just a bit too emphasised, haha! I think there's always got to be a few awkward poses while you get comfortable in front of the camera, but if you take enough you'll always end up with some stunning ones - I know I always need a LOT of practise shots!

Great outfit! Love the colour combo, and the print on the blouse. Only one thing missing here ... would have loved to see a picture of you blending in perfectly at the Mexican restaurant!! :) Camouflage at it's best.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you're on such a long stretch of work. Must be brutal. Here's hoping you have some fun in store when it's over.

Love this colour combination! That's so funny that you were camouflaged inside the restaurant! I definitely have that problem of not having enough time to find a good location, and I also take LOADS of awkward photos, so it always takes ages to get ones that are ok to put up! We need a support group for bloggers who take awkward photos! :)
ReplyDeleteAw red and mint together are one of my favorite combinations! I can't even tell you how bad I have wanted a pair of mint jeans for forever now - darn shopping ban. I know what you mean about locations - I always try to work mine into what I am doing on that day to avoid making special trips...argh, who has time for that?! - Though you and me both are very lucky to live amongst plenty of mountains and nature filled areas - so even these photos of yours that you are less than thrilled with are still gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteReally loving all your outfits Hannah! If I lived closer, I would so just love to raid your closet!! Best wishes getting through your long work week. I'm sure that can't be fun - so definitely find a moment to reward yourself once it's over:) xx Marisa
Ahh, those mint jeans are absolutely amazing! Especially paired with that pair of dark grey wedges. Too cute. I really want to buy another pair of wedges, or a colorful pair of jeans, but need to save save saveee these days! ^^
