Candy Necklace

It is my last day here in Hawaii (which my family is not allowed to mention out loud so they say its your "L.D" or "mmm-mm day").  I am excited to be reunited with R back in Colorado, but besides that I think I could stay forever, or at least until the Colorado winter is over!

 Outfit Details: Dress - H&M // Necklace & Earrings- c/o Oasap // Heels - Marshalls

Anyway, this little white dress has been really easy to throw on for beach days, going out to dinner, or really anything here.  The bougainvillea bushes here so gorgeous and they grow everywhere.  I paired it with a bright and cheery new necklace from Oasap which reminds me of candy.  A big thanks to my mom with helping me with photos while I am here too.  Soon it will be back to throwing my down jacket off for a few seconds to try to get an outfit shot before I freeze!
Have a wonderful (and hopefully long) weekend!

Jungle Leopard

In the past, leopard print hasn't really been my jam.  But in writing a style blog, my fashion choices over the past few years have become a bit more daring so I decided to give the bold print a try.
Outfit Details: Dress - c/o Oasap // Sunnies- gift from mom // Purse
Dooney & Bourke (vintage) // Heels - Marshsalls

What really sold me on this sweet little dress from Oasap was the comfy baydoll cut and cute bell sleeves!  Though I thought I had ordered it in a lighter tan color, the bold rust tones are actually growing on me.  My mom surprised me with these matching sunnies she found at the grocery store here yesterday and I think they are my new favorite pair!

R headed back to Colorado yesterday which is a bummer. I leave Hawaii on Friday so I am trying to soak up the sun, delicious fresh food, and sand as much as possible before I head back to the frigid winter.

Mitla Moda in Kona

Aloha!
As usual, I am matching my outfit to the surrounding scenery.  I bought this beautiful embroidered blouse from Dusana's fair trade shop Mitla Moda for my mom for Christmas in hopes I would get to borrow it a few times too!  The woven florals went perfectly with all of the Bougainvillea bushes around Kona, but the short flowy skirt didn't go so well with the extreme winds at the nice restaurant we were headed to for happy hour!
Outfit Details: Blouse - Dus's Shop Mitla Moda // Skirt - c/o Oasap // Sandals- BDG via Swell // Floral Backpack - gift from friend

Today we are off to the Hilo side of the big island to pick up my aunt.  Actually, my aunt on my dad's side lives here in Kona and my mom's sister lives in Hilo which is pretty funny.  Anyway, I have to keep this short since we have lots of driving to do today! Hope you're having a great week!

Maui Wowie

Sometimes I feel bad even including "outfit" photos in a post where the scenery so glaringly overshadows what a person could possibly be wearing.  Nonetheless, here is what I wore on a beautiful (and terrifying) adventure road tripping around the coast of Maui a few days ago.
Outfit Details: Top- c/o Oasap // Shorts - vintage/ thrifted // Sandals - BDG via Swell //
Sunnies - Lulu*s

Though we have been to Maui in the past, we had never done this specific drive around the Northern tip of the island.  We had seen the beautiful cliffs along the coastline while searching for a beach the previous day, and set out in the morning to do some more exploring.  What started out as a just a quick drive to the point turned into an all day adventure as we decided to inch further and further along the  winding cliffside roads.  It got a bit hairy when the road turned into one lane with no shoulder and a truck was approaching from the opposite direction. Yet, we somehow managed to survive the day, see some of the most beautiful scenery, and found a lime green shack selling the world's best homemade banana bread.  Success!

Peachy Keen Kauai

Aloha!
So, my posting schedule is a bit off. But, as one of my new year's resolutions, I am trying to enjoy the moment more while I am in it, so I am basically just going to post whenever there's a bit of down time. From past experiences, sometimes when you are on vacation you blink and its over, and I surely don't want to miss a minute!
Outfit Details: Dress - Rip Curl (gift from brother) // Sunnies - c/o Oasap // Sandals - thrifted //
Purse & Collar -  Vintage (gift from mom)

My brother got me this awesome dress for my birthday, and I wish these pictures did it justice because its the prettiest light green and peach colors.  I paired it with a pretty vintage ruffled collar that my mom gave me for Christmas (along with a bunch of other amazing ones I'm sure you'll be seeing down the road)!

Anyway, thanks for coming along with me on my adventures.  We are heading to our condo in Kona on the big island tomorrow so I am hoping for a little bit more down time where I can try and catch up on everyone's blogs! My blog roll is way to long and I miss reading them on the daily!
Hope you're having a wonderful start to your New Year!

Haleakala Polka Dots

Happy 2014! Right before the new year, R and my family took a little road trip across Maui to explore Haleakala volcano.  And what's more appropriate to wear to a volcano than polka dots and a boater hat, am I right?
Outfit Details: Dress - Marshalls // Sandals - BDG via Swell // Sunnies - Lulus // Hat - H&M

These were taken when we stopped at a little market on the way down, which was full of fun island treats, little homemade jams, and beautiful foliage.

We rang in the new year by grilling a huge salmon dinner, drinking champagne, and then heading out to a little beach bar.  As usual, New Years day was spent with a slight hangover, a sleepy feeling, and lots of water, a tradition which I am realizing I am no longer the biggest fan of.  What did you guys do to celebrate?
