Alpine Frida

The last of the photos from my mini vacation to the mountains this weekend.  Feeling a bit like Frida Kahlo in my beautiful pink embroidered dress while we explored an Alpine Garden in Vail.  Too bad I didn't have a pile of flowers on my head.
Outfit Details:
Dress - thrifted (similar here!)
Shoes - H&M
Leggings - Marshalls
Hat - Eddia Bauer
Necklace - Charming Charlie

While the leggings and sneaks wouldn't typically be how I would like to style this dress, I knew we would be doing a lot of walking around and sometimes ya just have to balance form and function! When I spotted this dress while thrifting a few weekends ago my heart may or may not have stopped beating for a hot second there I was so excited.  It reminds me SO much of the beautiful embroidered dresses mi amiga Dusana sells in her Mexican Fair Trade shop Mitla Moda. I still hope to one day get my hands on one of her classic cream colored ones as well!

Anyway, lots to get done so I can go have fun at a local brewery tonight while R's sister is in town!  And stay tuned for the exciting announcement I have been alluding to on Monday too!

Have a great weekend!

Quandary Peak

I'm back! Not having my laptop charger with me turned out to be a blessing in disguise because though I didn't get lots of work done, I was able to enjoy the mini vacation more because of it.  Luckily one thing I did not forget was my camera charger, so as usual I took on the role of paparazzi on our hikes and explorations through the different mountain towns.

Outfit Details
Vtg GAP Overalls - in the shop!
Vtg Tribal Blouse - in the shop!
Hat - Eddie Bauer
Booties - DSW

The fall-like weather up there was actually really nice, and now its in the 90s back at home today so I can still enjoy the last bit of summer weather too.   For my cozy mountain attire, I borrowed a few things from the shop like these vintage GAP overalls and this tribal flannel.  Now I'm wishing I had brought a few more items from the shop to style because the beautiful mountain backdrop would've made such a nice setting for a little fall lookbook for the shop!

Anyway, back to reality now!  Bags to unpack, orders to ship, and vintage to list! But first, coffee.

Take It Easy

Hi guys,
I've got to keep this short but just wanted to stop in and say hello.  I am on a little mini vacation renting a cabin/ house up in the mountains with R's family right now and unfortunately just realized I forgot my computer charger.  The extra unfortunate part is that this Monday was supposed to be a big and exciting new business announcement for me, but I am pushing it back a week because my computer battery has only about thirty minutes left before it dies and I won't be able to get everything done in time!  Oh well, now I will just be "forced" to sit back and relax.  So on that note, here are a few snaps from a little hike we did in Breckenridge today!

(The gang minus R's mom!)

My apologies in advance for my upcoming unplanned absence!  I will still be posting on instagram if you'd like to follow along there.  I'm going to go try enjoy myself and not feel so panicky about not having my computer for the next four days!  I think a beer and a soak in the hot tub may help ;)
xoxo!

Pendleton Woods

Hello! Just a few snaps from when I was up in Breckenridge last weekend wearing all vintage from the shop.  Not too many of these shots turned out as it was super bright and the camera just did not want to focus.  The woes of using a tripod in the snow!
Outfit Details: Dress - Vintage Pendleton - for sale in the shop here! // Boots - Vintage - for sale in the shop here! // Blouse - Vintage, for sale in the shop here!

Anyway, of course I went MIA again right after promising to get back into a regular blogging schedule last week.  If you follow me on instagram however, you will know the reason! Besides shop work, I have had my hands full with four little kittens!  As some of you know probably know, I volunteer for my local Humane Society doing kitty foster care, so these little fur babies are in my care for the next to weeks until they are old enough to be adopted!  Make sure to follow along on instagram if you want to be inundated with tons of adorable kitten pictures :)

Have a great start to your week!

Fuzzy & White

For Thanksgiving day, I was torn between leggings and a giant oversized sweater and a dress of some sort.  I decided to borrow this little vintage navy number from the shop because the babydoll style cut was perfect for being comfortable and stuffing myself with mashed potatoes, stuffing, and pie in!
Outfit Details: Dress - vintage - for sale in the shop here! // Boots - vintage - for sale in the shop here! // Coat - Darling UK (The Vivienne Coat) via Zulily

This coat by Darling was my special splurge of the season.  I got it from the daily deal site Zulily for probably over half off, yet it was still way more than I usually spend as I thrift most of my wardrobe! While its fluffy white material with stripes of gold sequins is not my typically more low key style, I have to admit it really makes me feel special when I have it on!

Anyway, these were taken right around the house we rented with family and friends up in Breckenridge for the weekend.  It was in the same neighborhood we rented in last year  so its becoming a tradition, and the place was so pretty and perfect for afternoon walks.  I also had a wonderful birthday on Monday back in Boulder, opening so many amazing presents and going out for sushi and sake with R and the fam.  I dropped my family off at the airport yesterday and they made it out before a huge snowstorm that came through last night.  It feels so strange to be back in my apartment alone, but its nice to be sitting here drinking coffee with my own thoughts, and actually feeling like I want to blog again instead of it feeling like a giant chore.  Sometimes its so important to just take a step back and enjoy the people you are with in the moment!
Hope you guys are having a great week!

p.s.  In case you missed it, one of my favorite bloggers, Elizabeth of Delightfully Tacky styled an outfit wearing boots from The Braided Bandit Vintage on her blog the other day, so exciting! You can see her full post here!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Hip hip hooray, today is my birthday and I am 27 years old!  I really haven't been keeping up with posts lately as my family has been in town and I decided to just enjoy myself and take a week off!

Outfit Details: Sweater - Vintage, for sale in the shop here! // Hat & Pants - thrifted //
Boots - Marshalls

We spent Thanksgiving in a beautiful house we rented up in Breckenridge with friends and family and then stayed the weekend too.  It was so beautiful there, and I think I am still stuffed from all of the food I ate.  I knew this vintage sweater from the shop would be a perfect thing to grab for a snowy weekend, and paired it with my new favorite thrifted dino hat.
Anyway, we are driving back to Boulder today to celebrate my birthday there!  I am picking out a new lens for my camera I have been wanting for ever as my gift from my family, and we may go see a movie and then go to one of my favorite restaurants downtown for dinner and drinks.  I promise to get back to posting regularly again now, and I hope you all had a wonderful holiday here in the U.S! I can't wait to catch up with you all!

Mountain Time

Hi guys!  Happy Wednesday.  I am getting back into the swing of things after my mini cabin vacation.  Luckily, I can live vicariously through my vacation pictures for awhile! Since I got a bunch of comments about wearing a dress in the snow on the last post, I decided to go for a more mountain appropriate outfit this time around! But when it was in the 30s already a few weeks ago, let me tell you, 60 degrees feels like a springtime stroll through the park!
Outfit Details:
Watch: c/o Sprout Watches
Skirt & Belt: Thrifted
Sweater: F21
Necklace: Ampris Loves
Shoes &Tights: Not sure
Do you guys notice something I am wearing in this post that you have probably never seen me wear before?  If you guessed the watch, you would be correct! I am absolutely smitten with this watch that Sprout Watches, an amazing eco-friendly watch company, sent over for me to try.  As you all probably know by now, I work in the environmental field, so I love when I can combine my love of fashion with my passion for the environment and sustainability. I chose this boyfriend style watch because I absolutely loved the wooden watch face against the white background and thought it would go with anything! But here is where the watch gets even better.  It is actually made mainly of corn resin, which will not wear down with regular wear, but in a compost environment, will biodegrade into carbon dioxide and water within 365 days! SO COOL!
They had a lot of awesome watches to choose from for both guys and gals, and with the holidays coming up, I could not recommend these watches enough.  I am thinking of getting this recyclable cork one for my brother for Christmas. (Have no fear that the surprise will be ruined- I would keel over on the spot due to pure shock if he were reading my blog). They even had some with cute nautical anchors and little owls on the watch faces.  Anyway, you will definitely be seeing a lot more of my Sprout Watch in outfit posts, and maybe I will actually be on time for things now! But, let's be honest, probably not.  If you do head over to the Sprout site, I would love to hear which one you would choose as your favorite!  I hope you all are having an amazing day!

*Note: I received my watch courtesy of Sprout Watches, but all of these opinions are 100% my own!
