Snowy Polka Dots

Snow snow, go away. I am so ready for flowers on the trees and outdoor happy hour after work, whose with me? Also, snow in eyelashes = really hard to smile with your eyes open!
Outfit Details:
Triangle Necklace - c/o Oasap // Red Oxfords - c/o American Apparel // Fleece-lined Tights: Ross

I wore this last weekend to celebrate R's mom's and grandpa's birthday with a pizza party and movie. R's grandpa's house has a little in-home movie theatre he made in the basement with two rows of movie seats, a pretty chandelier, a pile of cozy blankets, snacks, and even a red curtain that slides off the screen when the movie starts! I had not been over there before and I cannot wait to go watch another movie!
This little vintage polka dot number is a new favorite of mine because I feel like it is so easy to dress up or down and its so fun to add little pops of color to.  It should be in the shop by the end of the week!
Anyway, just trying to keep positive right now since its pretty easy for dreary weather and a million days of work in a row to get me down. I am excited to put some new pretty vintage up in the shop too! Hope you guys are having a good week!

Snow Bright

Another snowy weekend here in Colorado.  Yesterday, R and I decided to venture out to the grocery store and I but on a bright happy outfit to fight off the effects of cabin fever.
 Outfit Details:
Tights: Target // Bow Flats: Vintage// thrifted // Jacket: Nine West // thrifted // Hat: Nixon

I paired a vintage floral dress with some bright yellow tights and a cozy sweater. I love how colorful outfits always look extra vivid against a snowy backdrop!  For all those warm weather people who always say "aren't you freezing wearing that in the snow?", you just take off your jacket for a few minute to snap the pictures.  I actually threw back on my down jacket and snow boots the second we got back into the car :)
I hope you all had a good weekend! Today is the start of a 12 day work streak for me, whew, wish me luck!

Cupid's Arrow

One of my favorite parts of writing a so called "fashion" blog is sharing adventures and pretty scenery with you guys.  For me, its usually just as much about finding a good backdrop as it is about putting together a nice outfit.  I like to think of each post as a mini lookbook that evokes a feeling and a fin viewing experience of my surroundings for my readers (and for myself)!  That said, this weather has been getting me a bit down, and I am growing pretty tired of throwing my down jacket off for the sake of outfits snaps and having the wind ruin 3/4 of the shots I take!  I definitely still plan to go on adventures and find pretty scenic places to take photos, but for the time being, I am also going to do a few posts inside too. I hope you guys will bear with me!
Outfit Details:
Dress: Ruche, swapped with Ashley // Tights: Francesca's Collections, gift // Heels: thirfted //
Chevron Necklace: DIY by me // Belt: came on an old dress // Hat: Brixton

My bedroom acts as both my office and studio for my vintage shop, so I decided to add a few cute touches to the area I typically take listing pictures!  I always have some of my current favorite vintage dresses hanging on the wall as decoration, and added a little flag bunting I made above them. I am so excited to have an indoor space I am happy with to take some pictures in, its definitely going to make blogging a bit easier.
On to the dress! I borrowed this from the lovely Ashley of Southern (California) Belle through our swap blog Flock Together!  I am pretty sure she originally got this dress for her engagement photos, so I felt so privileged to be able to borrow such  a cute and special piece from her, thanks Ashley! You can see how Ashley styled it on her blog here (aren't the polka dot tights the cutest?!)  I decided to pair it with a pair of lacy grey tights a friend got me for Christmas, a necklace I made, and pops of red.
I hope you guys have a fun weekend planned! Happy Friday!

Windy Whining

Well, in a "roll" of at least 30 shots in this outfit, these were really the only salvageable ones.  Taking pictures in the wind is SO hard! It's unfortunate, because I really love this adorable little vintage dress with the animal print details! It used to be a maxi but I took up the hem for a more modern fit, and its now in the shop! Anyway, this happened to pictures on both Sunday and Monday which is so frustrating, so I really would like to start taking a few of my outfit snaps inside to make life a bit easier while the weather is still wintry and unpredictable!
Outfit Details:
Shoes: Vintage/ thrifted
Tights: Target
Do you guys ever take shots indoor to save time? I really hate to do it often because Colorado has such pretty scenery I always feel its a waste. But, I have been trying to think up a few cute setups indoors so I can post more often until the weather finally gets nicer!
Anyway, that's all I really have for now! I hope everyone is having a good week!

p.s. I just saw the Family Affairs Fall 2013 collection on Calivintage, and this dress looks like it could have been pulled straight from the collection (excuse me while I contemplate pulling it out of the shop for keeps haha!)

Southwestern Tracks

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend, and maybe even a day off today! It's my moms birthday today, but she is still in Hawaii so feel free to leave some Mom-Birthday-Love in the comments :)

Outfit Details:
Southwestern Blouse - Vintage- for sale in shop here!
Purse & Headband: gift
Skirt: Stylemint
Red Oxfords: c/o American Apparel

Can you guys believe this blouse?! R, not usually a huge fan of the loud tribal or southwestern prints, shockingly found this while thrifting with me for the shop a few weekends back. The print is so much fun and I was pretty astonished when he brought it over to show me.  I paired it with red and black basics since the print does a very good job as speaking for itself!  I love these deserted tracks for taking pictures during the weekend, but it definitely finds me worriedly looking back and forth before each shot is taken to make sure there isn't a train looming in the distance.
Anyway, not too much to say so I will leave it at that!  Have a great day!

Happy Valentines Day!

Outfit Details: Dress - vintage/ gift // Flats: vintage/ thrifted // Floral Crown - DIY
Happy Valentines Day!
Whether or not you celebrate Valentines Day or not, I hope your day is filled with love! I baked and decorated some cookies for work to spread some cheer.  Then R and I are doing a very simple and relaxed night in cooking dinner and watching a movie!  No crowded restaurants for us!
My mom sent me this gorgeous vintage dress from she found at a thrift store in Hawaii for a Valentines gift, thanks mom! I took up the hem a bit and paired it with a festive floral crown and bow flats and felt very "me".
What do you guys have planned for tonight, I'd love to hear!  Have a wonderful day!

Peplum Hearts

Hello hello!
I had my first peplum experience this weekend and I think I am a convert! One of my best friends from home sent me this darling top in a box of goodies (Thank you Rachel!), and while I have always thought the peplum trend was cute, I hadn't tried it for myself yet.  This top has a tiny heart print and awesome cutouts in the front and back which I am also loving, though it had just started to snow on me when I took these so this outfit was mainly covered by my big down puffy jacket.  What do do guys think about peplum?  If you have styled it before leave a link in the comments, I would love to come take a peak!

Outfit Details: Peplum Blouse- gift // Maroon Pants - c/o American Apparel // Booties - Sam & Libby via DSW // Necklace - F21 (old) // Hat - Target
I hope you guys had a good weekend and stayed warm!  Mine was filled diner breakfast, coffee, movies, and maybe even a little work on my taxes.   Though R and I do not do a huge fancy celebration for Valentines Day, I still do like a day where you show people you care! We are planning on cooking a nice dinner in and exchanging a few little things.  Then its already Friday, followed by a three day weekend! I know I am getting ahead of myself here, but I have high hopes for this week!
