Alpine Frida

The last of the photos from my mini vacation to the mountains this weekend.  Feeling a bit like Frida Kahlo in my beautiful pink embroidered dress while we explored an Alpine Garden in Vail.  Too bad I didn't have a pile of flowers on my head.
Outfit Details:
Dress - thrifted (similar here!)
Shoes - H&M
Leggings - Marshalls
Hat - Eddia Bauer
Necklace - Charming Charlie

While the leggings and sneaks wouldn't typically be how I would like to style this dress, I knew we would be doing a lot of walking around and sometimes ya just have to balance form and function! When I spotted this dress while thrifting a few weekends ago my heart may or may not have stopped beating for a hot second there I was so excited.  It reminds me SO much of the beautiful embroidered dresses mi amiga Dusana sells in her Mexican Fair Trade shop Mitla Moda. I still hope to one day get my hands on one of her classic cream colored ones as well!

Anyway, lots to get done so I can go have fun at a local brewery tonight while R's sister is in town!  And stay tuned for the exciting announcement I have been alluding to on Monday too!

Have a great weekend!

Black Magic

I think there may be some sort of magic behind this dress from Baked x Stone Fox Swim.  I found out that I won a contest I had entered on the Swell.com Facebook page to win this dress and was over the moon excited! The cutouts are amazing and the material is super comfortable.  I only wish I had had it for all of summer!
Outfit Details - Dress - Baked x SFS via Swell // Booties - Blowfish //
 Hat - Target // Necklace - Vintage
I knew I wanted to go for a a bohemian look and paired it with a pair of Blowfish booties and my favorite maroon hat.  For some reason, whenever I wear outfits of this style, I always think railroad tracks make the ideal backdrop for photos.  Perhaps its subconscious wanderlust.  I feel like this is the type of dress that if you were going to go on a tropical vacation and could only bring one item of clothing, this would be the thing to throw in your suitcase.  It's also a bit more sexy than my normal style, so that doesn't hurt once in awhile either! I know it will be coming with me to Hawaii at the end of this year! And speaking of tropical vacations, there is the possibility of SNOW in the forecast for Friday even though its in the mid 70s today.  So yeah, there's that.
Hope you're having a great week!

Charcoal Alley

Happy Hump Day. Is it me or is this week crawling along slow as molasses!?  I think it is due to the fact that I finally joined a gym again and getting back into working out is always quite tortuous for me!  If I go before work, I feel extra tired at work all day and the day stretches on and on.  If I go after work, it cuts into my precious "down time".  How do you guys typically fit exercising into you busy schedules?!
Outfit Details: Dress & Blouse- Vintage // Boots: Marshalls (old) // Hat: Target

Enough whining from me.  All winter I have been loving any sort of jumper style dress that I can layer a blouse beneath.  I decided to give this charcoal grey maxi jumper a go before I took up the hem and put it in the shop!  The look is a bit out of the ordinary for me, but it was really comfy and appropriate to wear to work.  I can't wait to style the shortened version after I hem it too, it would be fun to see both looks side by side!
I decided to fore go my usual preference of nature backdrops to a more appropriate one for this sort of 90s grunge look.  There are a bunch of cool little alleyways between buildings here in downtown boulder and I love all the brick and signs for old storefronts! And you all know how I like to match my outfits to my surroundings!
Anyway, hope your work week (or school week) is flying by a bit faster than mine!

Salvaged Strawberry

 Hi guys,
Did you have a good weekend? Mine was way too short and busy, but this is only a three day week so I can totally handle it. Or so I keep telling myself.
Outfit Details:
Dress: Vintage from Salvaged Strawberry
Boots: MIA, gift from mom
Hat: gift from mom
Skinny Belt: Forever21
Scarf: Target

This is what I wore this weekend to run around doing a million things.  When I saw this striped maxi in the awesome vintage shop Salvaged Strawberry, I just had to have it!  I have never really worn maxi dresses in the winter before, but  thought this could be a piece for any season.  And let's be honest, anything that is as comfy as wearing a sweatsuit but you don't look like a complete slob in, I am totally down for. I originally thought I may hem it, but now I am thinking I really like it as is! Between the velvet floral dress last week and this outfit, I have really been rocking the 90s lately haha.  The lovely Amanda of Salvaged Strawberry even sent me some extra goodies in my package and it was wrapped adorably. Definitely make sure to take a peek at her blog and shop!
I apologize if I have not been responding to comments as much! I usually scroll through blogs in between tasks at work, but the internet at my work is slow as molasses.  I'm working on it!

Railroad Tracks at Sunset

Happy Monday (maybe).  I have to keep this short and sweet because I am being trained for something new at work today.  I am happy for the change I think, but learning a new job is always a little bit daunting.  I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine centered mainly around delicious food, with some shop work and relaxing mixed in.  Yesterday I had pineapple upside-down cake pancakes, which were the biggest
pancakes I have ever seen. So good!

Outfit Details:
Purse: Vintage/ thrifted
Earrings: Vintage
Belt: Free People, gift
Heels: old- Marshalls maybe?
Necklace: F21

As for the pictures, I found a nice photo spot on the railroad tracks near my house, so expect to see lots more from this location.  The only hard part of railroad tracks is that if you are shooting on auto with a self timer, the tracks have so much detail that its hard for the camera to know that I should be the thing in focus, but I am going to work on that.  So much more to learn about my camera!  This dress, which is now for sale in my shop, reminds me of day out sailing.  I love the beige and white pinstripes, buttons, and oversized front pockets, it makes me long for the ocean!
Alright, well wish me luck with my new training at work today and have a great Monday!
