Windy Florals

Well, I almost wasn't going to post these photos as it was a battle between my outfit and the wind on this day and my outfit lost.  That said, I really loved the outfit even though it didn't translate how I wanted to in photos, but so it goes right?
Outfit Details: Vintage Floral Blouse - for sale in the shop here! // Vintage Maroon Booties - for sale in the shop here // Teal Sunnies - c/o Oasap // Vintage Skirt - thrifted // Socks - Urban Outfitters // Jacket - Target

Anyway, can you ever just feel that your style is changing?  Though not at all evident in this outfit, I find myself looking back to the basics and am drawn to more simple silhouettes while browsing stores online.  While I still love bold floral prints and cute peter pan collars, I think my style is somehow maturing.  I find myself typing in "nude pumps" or "printed cropped trousers" instead of "Cat Dress with Kittens Riding Unicorns", if you catch my drift.  Anyone going through something similar right now? Maybe its just the change of seasons I am itching for!

Hope you're all having a great week!

Kitty Helper

The neighbor's cat, the Dalai Lama, comes to visit me and meows to be let into my apartment multiple times a day.  Today he decided he wanted to visit while I was shooting some new vintage inventory for the shop, so he volunteered to help.  And by help, I mean he attacked any and all hair accessories left on the floor, attempted to topple over the tripod, and proceeded to cause general chaos.  Isn't he handsome?

Hope you guys are having a good week so far!

Southwest Prep

Hi guys, hope everyone had a good weekend!  I spent mine outside as much as possibly while the weather has been a little bit nicer, and R even got me to play hockey with him!  Recently we went to Sports Authority to buy some fun sports equipment like a soccer ball, frisbee, etc., to try and motivate us to get our butts off the couch more often if there is a chance to go outside for a little bit.  So far its been working, and we head over to this little field across from his apartment on weekends.
Outfit Details: Tan S.W. Blouse - Vintage, for sale in the shop here! // Skirt & Purse- thrifted // Sunnies - gift from Mom // Shoes - Vintage, for sale in the shop here! // Tights & Faux Leather Jacket- Target

As for the outfit, there's definitely a mix between a southwestern and preppy vibe going on here.  The vintage shirt, which is for sale in the shop along with the shoes, has such a cool geometric embroidering on it.  And it was even nice enough to warrant wearing sunglasses yesterday! Anyway, its Monday so I better hop back to it!

Friday's Favorite Finds {Vol. 9}

This week flew by! Thank goodness for holiday Mondays and short weeks! Here are a few of my current favorite finds from around the internet & happy Friday!

I have been really into super low key style lately, and love that a few of my favorite bloggers seem to be embracing casualness too!  Jessi nailed her fancy sweats look and I love Kalee's blue jeans and a blouse with her carhartt hat!

This article is called "31 Grilled Cheeses That Are Better Than A Boyfriend".  I think that's all I need to say about that. Your welcome.

These portraits of the world's most remote tribes by photographer Jimmy Nelson are so beautiful!

Love at First Bite.  Sounds about right! Extra appropriate since R and I celebrate Valentines Day a week ago with a heart shaped pizza :)

Even though I already have pretty sneakers, these minty numbers from Heidi Klum's collection for New Balance sure are calling my name pretty loudly!

I love looking at inspiring home office spaces and hope to one day have a bit more space of my own to be able to create in! You can find these two (and the links) on my newly started home office pinterest board!

Have a great weekend!

Alpaca Snow

This is pretty much what you will find me wearing when I work from home during the winter: a cozy sweater, and some sort of leggings as pants.  These ones from Target are especially great because they are a thicker hybrid between a legging and sweatpants but they have paneled lines similar to riding pants.  And most importantly, obviously, and elasticized waistband :)
Outfit Details: Pants- Target // Sweater & Hat - thrifted // Jacket - gift // Boots - DSW

These were actually taken a few weeks ago when the snow would not let up.  We have since got a few warm days in there, and R and I even kicked around a soccer ball and played frisbee outside this weekend! It was a miracle!
Anyway, I have been busy keeping the shop filled with lots of pretty vintage while also scheming some exciting ideas for my new handmade shop!  So stay tuned!

Heart on my Sleeve

So, I'm pretty sure every time I wear this sweater on the blog I titled the post the same thing.  I am not sure there is any better title for a sweater where there's actually hearts on your sleeves, but if you have any ideas I would love to hear them!
Outfit Details - Sweater - c/o Oasap // Scarf - handmade/ DIY // Pants - Calvin Klein (from Costco in hawaii of all places!) // Shoes - vintage/ thrifted

Anyway, I didn't really dress up for Valentines day itself because after working all day R and I just watched a movie, ordered heart shaped pizza, and ate the heart shaped cake that I made! But, after Jenna posted a valentines roundup on her blog last week, I remembered I owned this sweater so I wore it the following day when we headed into Denver to go to our favorite bookstore and record shopping.  The heart shaped balloon actually came with the heart pizza we ordered, so I of course had to use it in the photos for the sake of tradition!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and if you're in the U.S., I hope you're lucky enough to have the day off for Presidents day today!

p.s. My hair still isnt long enough for a top knot like this since I decided to chop it again right before the holidays (ugh), but I have been using this hairstyle ring from H&M and I love having the ability to easily put it up like this again!

Happy Valentines Day!

Hello hello, and Happy Valentines day to all of you! Here is an outfit that has red in it, so I am calling it my Valentines Day outfit even though these are from last weekend ;)
Outfit Details: Fisherman's Cape Sweater - Vintage, for sale in the shop here! // Plaid Blouse
Vintage, for sale in the shop here! // Boots - Vintage (in the shop soon!) // Jeans - thrifted

My real life valentines day outfit will probably be whatever I throw in my bag to change into after the gym this morning.  And let's be real, it will probably involve spandex. (Sorry R!)  Our plan is to make or buy a heart shaped pizza and rent a movie for a snugly low key night in and then do a little something on another day this weekend instead. We decided we would rather spend the money on a mini roadtrip or something this year than the usual gifts. What are your plans for the day, I love to hear how other people do or don't celebrate!

p.s. Since its the day of love, I have to say thank you to R for always being such a huge help with my blog photos! :)
