Lily Pad Lake

Hello,
I realized I forgot to share the rest of the photos from our camping trip two weekends ago!  Many weekends during the summer here in Colorado I really miss New Jersey and the beach, but scenery like this really helps to make up for it!

Most of these photos were taken on a hike we did to Lily Pad lake and the views really didn't disappoint! It was really good for R and I to get off our lazy bottoms and do something active instead of lounge around the campsite all day.  I got treated to lunch afterwards too in the little town nearby, so all of the physical activity was worth the effort (and got completely cancelled out).
Have you done any cool hikes this summer?

Black and White

Oh, Monday. I am not your biggest fan.
It was a pretty mellow weekend for me.  I spent most of it at home giving my handsome 3-legged foster kitty his medicines, but these were taken yesterday while I snuck away for a bit to go eat lunch at R's place.
Outfit Details: Romper - c/o Oasap // Boots - thrifted // Sweater - Target //
Watch - c/o Sprout Watches // Necklace - Vintage

It was a rare rainy day in Colorado, and it was so nice to not take pictures in the glaring sun like usual.  It also meant it was pleasantly cool out and created an awesome grey backdrop for photo-taking! I paired my lacy romper with black and white accessories for a very monotone look, which is pretty out of the ordinary for me but a welcome change.  The last time I wore this romper I was home in New Jersey.  I also donned my awesome white watch I got from the eco-friendly Sprout Watches last year which doesn't make it on the blog nearly enough.  I don't wear a watch on a daily basis, but this one is made from corn resin and is actually biodegradable, which I find to be so awesome!  I have my eye on one of these colorful cork ones or one from their nautical collection next!
Also, don't forget there is only a few more days where you can use the code XMASJULY to take $10 off anything you see in my vintage shop!  Have a great start to your week!

Christmas in July Vintage Super Sale!

Hello & Happy Friday!
Not only have I not been the best of bloggers this week, but I was supposed to post this yesterday on the 25th of July for "Christmas in July".  Oh well, close enough! I promise I have had my reasons though!  But first off, I wanted to make up for it by having a special vintage sale for my shop for you guys! I am pretty sure this is the biggest discount I have ever given out on the blog, hooray.  From now until August 1st, you guys can take $10 off anything in the shop with the code XMASJULY. The only restriction is that the original price of the item has to be at least $20, so it excludes items already on sale.  These are just a few things that have been added to the shop recently!  If you do end up finding something you like, I would also love to feature you on the blog if you style an outfit with your Braided Bandit vintage item!

Anyway, here's a bit of what I have been up to.  Last weekend I was away camping so I didn't really take my typical weekend outfit photos.  I also recently volunteered to be a kitty foster parent for cats who need temporary homes for different reasons for my local humane society! I grew up taking in foster animals with my mom for years in New Jersey, but this is the first time I have lived on my own in a place that is allowing me to have cats.  Yesterday, I got my first foster kitty named Hamilton and he needed a foster home until he gets better because he got hit by a car this week and had to have his leg amputated :( How sad is that?!  It's actually been harder than I thought because I have to give him his medications and he is still very shaken up and in pain but I am so excited to have him for a few weeks and give him lots of TLC! Wish me luck with him and expect kitty pictures in the near future!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and remember to take a peak at the shop to see if there's anything you like!

Camping + Pinafores

R and I spent this past weekend camping in the mountains outside of Breckenridge. We headed up after work on Friday and luckily made it there before dark so we could set up our spot. We didn't have a reserved site, so we were pretty much just winging it, much to my delight and R's dismay. The first site we tried was all filled up, but there was another site just down the road that still had some lakeside spots left where we pitched our tent, cracked open a few beers, and caught the sunset.
Outfit Details: Top - borrowed from Katie // Pinafore - Vintage // Hat - Target //
Shoes - American Eagle (super old) // Sunnies - BCBG Generation

I packed this vintage pinafore (which should be in the shop soon) as an easy thing to throw over a t shirt or tank while lounging around the campsite. I layered it over this cute vintage top I borrowed from Katie from Butterfly Loves Snapdragons.  I can't get enough of casual wide stripes right now and may or may not be wearing this top again to work today! Katie also just opened up on awesome etsy shop called Midwest Charm Vintage that's chock full of adorable accessories and clothes.  I've got my eye on this 1970s yellow dress!
I will be back later this week to share a few snaps from a gorgeous hike we did while camping! Hope you're having a great week!

Insta-Life {July Edition}

Sorry for the short absence, I've been bit busy working and trying to enjoy summer! I do have some pictures to share from camping this past weekend, but in the meantime, here are some of my favorite instagram snaps from July! New notebooks are my favorite! I got these from Amazon from Rifle Paper Co. One of the first areas I set up in my new apartment! Heading out for a Saturday morning brunch Hanging out at a food truck party! Shipping out some summery orders The view from inside our tent this weekend! Hanging out in comfy clothes after setting up our tent the first night

For all of you guys interested, you can now embed pictures from your online instagram account. As usual, I am late to the tech party so this was news to me! All you have to do is go into your account (mine is here), click on the photo you want, click on the little "..." at the bottom, and select embed. From there you can just copy and paste the code into a blogger draft, but make sure you are working in the html tab, not the regular compose tab. Its a super easy way to post some of your instagram shots in a blog post without having to save each individual image and then upload them. Hope that helps! Will be back shortly with some real camping pictures! xo Hannah

Lavender Gold

I sit here typing this with a popsicle stick stuck to my finger wrapped in duck tape.   I had a friend point out to me that it is in fact DUCT tape, but I do still prefer my wrong version, which happens with more words than I care to admit. Anyway, I am pretty sure I broke my finger catching (missing) a fly ball at my softball game last night, which has made working at a computer a bit more annoying.  And since I am admitting things here already, I'll say that broken bones were not uncommon in my childhood as I was *a bit* of a tomboy.  The best (worst) one would probably have to be my broken nose which I got while jumping on a trampoline in the third grade.  More specifically, I was jumping on a trampoline while inside of a refrigerator box which my brother happened to be jumping in with me.  For future reference for all of you, its not the best idea.  Especially the day before school pictures.
Outfit Details: Dress - c/o American Apparel // Blouse - c/o August Wrinkle // Flats -vintage

Since we are on the topic of my past, in my teens I hated pink and purple and anything covered in flowers was completely out of the question, so its pretty funny that I write a so-called "fashion" blog now where I love those things and post photos of myself wearing them on a regular basis.  My mom reminded me of this after she saw Monday's blog post wearing a pink floral dress with matching pink heels and floral sunglasses.  Needless to say, its interesting how your opinions on things can change in a ten year time span. When I am in my mid thirties I will probably cringe at my mid twenties self posting all these twee outfit photos on the internet for all to see.  And since nothing on the internet is ever erased, I am going to ahead and say hello to 35 year old me reading this. Hello 35 year old Hannah! Remember when you were floundering around in your mid twenties wondering what you should actually do with your life? Oh wait you're STILL doing that? Well shit.
Now that I have finished conversing with my potential self ten years from now, I'll leave it at that and say have a great weekend! We are off to the mountains after work to go camping and I'll be sure to take some pictures to share!
