Date Night in White

Hi guys, happy #MeowMonday.  (I thought I just made that up because that's when I do my kitty feeding volunteer work, but apparently 8,000 people on instagram already had the idea first.) Anyway, feeding those sweet kitties sure does make for a nice start to the week!
Outfit Details
Babydoll Dress - in the shop here!
Hat - Eddie Bauer
Necklaces - gifted/ vtg
Shoes - DSW
Jacket - Target (old)

As for the outfit, I wore the little 90s babydoll dress (now in the shop here!) out to dinner with R last weekend.  We got what could only be referred to as "goblets" of beer for happy hour, split some yummy fried pickles, and then I got a delicious polenta veggie dish as my main course.  It's been fun exploring some restaurants in our new downtown, and its refreshing that they usually don't include the throngs of college kids that you'll find anywhere in downtown boulder.

Also, take a good look at this little old blog, as I'm planning a huge makeover this week and can't wait to share the finished product with you guys soon!  Its time to say sayōnara to chevron and yellow and welcome the new season with a fresh new look!

Friday's Favorite Finds {Vol. 14}

As the seasons start to change, I always find my wishlist growing at an infinitely faster rate.  I MUST have new boots, new jackets, cozy sweaters, cute coffee mugs... You know, cause' all of those things from LAST year must have just disappeared, must not fit anymore, must not be in style... Just kidding, but sometimes isn't that how advertising and social media makes you feel?!  I definitely don't *need* new ones of any of those things, but I surely do want them!  So without further adieu, let me add some food for the fodder with what I'm loving right now!

Would it be awkward if I wore this and I don't have a cat?

Remember this Branch DIY I did a few years ago?  Well, R has hung it sideways in our little master toilet room which we kindly refer to as the dungeon (its just big enough for yourself inside, is super dark, and is fittingly painted an awful dark brown).  The branch looks like some creepy torture device without all the pretty jewelry hanging from it and the nails sticking out everywhere..  So, I have some big plans to refinish the branch and make it into an entryway clothing rack like this one!

I have had these Minnetonka El Paso Ankle Boots on my wishlist since last fall season.  If they're on there for a full year and you still find yourself coming back to them, I'd say that will be a well thought out purchase, #amirite?

Right now, our garden is going CRAZY with tomatoes.  One of the bushes is larger than I am and has SO many big green tomatoes that just don't seem to want to ripen.  The other is a smaller type of tomato and there's a few new ripe ones to pick every single day now.  Thus, I am trying to find all the recipes that involve tomatoes, and this beautiful and healthier looking pizza option is on the top of my list!

Another thing that I am always on the lookout for is an authentic Hudson Bay striped blanket.  They are usually very out of my price range though!  This polar fleece version of the throw though would be such a cute alternative, and at $40 as opposed to hundreds, I may actually be able to make it work!

I wish this hat was sitting on my head right now.

I've been wanting ALL THE CANDLES.  This cute plaid one is jasmine lime scented little anchor one is pine and moss scented - yum!

This hand woven Weekender Bag from Mitla Moda is what my fall dreams are made of. And a very happy belated birthday to the lovely shop owner Dusana as well!

Have a great weekend!

Tree House

Hi guys, happy Friday!  I meant to have this post up earlier in the day, but this morning was just kind of strange.  Let's just say I found my second lost dog in two weeks time, but it turned out to be a little bit weird and aggressive, and I couldn't read its tag to call the number!  I went back looking for it in my car but couldn't find it again.  Oh well I tried! And speaking of lost or abandoned animals, did you see my new volunteer gig on instagram?!  I get to feed a whole colony of feral and abandoned cats in my town and they are the cutest!

Outfit Details:
Dress - Erica's (similar)
Hat - H&M (similar)
Polka Dot Shoes - (similar)
Red Satchel - gift (similar)

Anyway, on to the outfit.  I borrowed this darling tree and house print dress from Erica of Sweets and Hearts.  I'm not sure why none of the other Flock Together gals have jumped on this one yet for swaps because its seriously the cutest!  Make sure to hop on over to Erica's blog to see how she styled it too!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Cape of Good Hope

I have a confession.  I wasn't really wearing this outfit in real life, but just stepped outside to snap these while shooting this darling vintage cape for the shop!  Its seriously one of the most beautiful sweaters I've ever laid eyes on with folk/ fair isle motif complete with hearts!  Anyway, now the secrets out- send out the authorities for a fake blogging outfit alert ;)

Outfit Details:
VTG Cape Sweater - for sale in the shop here!
Loafers - thrifted (similar)
Blouse - c/o August Wrinkle (similar)
Maroon Pants - c/o American Apparel

I've been busy with a bunch of different fun collaborations this week and am really excited to have some of my very favorite bloggers wearing The Braided Bandit Vintage in the upcoming weeks!  I'm also super excited about having my vintage in a local salon here starting next Monday, especially since the two salon partners are also small business owners around my age.  I'll have to snap a few photos of the rack I'm bringing over, so many cute dresses!  It will be so nice to have a small in-personal local retail presence, as its something I've never got into before.

Hope you guys are having a wonderful week!

Checker Out

If I were going back to school, this is what I'd want to be wearing.  Instead I wore it out for a low key date night grabbing Italian food and heading to a local Speakeasy bar for some pumpkin beer and pool!

Outfit Details
Vintage Dress - for sale in the shop here!
Vintage Boots - for sale in the shop here!
Varsity Jacket - Forever 21 (similar)

I love this outfit, its another one where I feel very me.  Mixing a vintage dress (which is now in the shop) with a more edgy/modern jacket like this Varsity one from Forever 21 is what I feel the most comfortable in.  I'm really wanting this maroon version of the jacket too now!  And these boots, ugh.  They are currently listed in the shop for quite the steal of a price ($25!) because they show some serious signs of wear/ peeling on the inside but they are amazing on the outside.  I am once again tempted to go ahead and take down the listing and squirrel them away for myself.  But alas, if I did that with everything I wanted to keep, this dress and these boots included, I wouldn't have much of a business haha!

I hope you are all having a great start to your week!

It's All Yellow

You guys its COLD. Like it apparently snowed near us this morning. And rainy. And may I point out that it was in the 90s during the day last weekend?  At least its Friday!
Outfit Details:
Mustard Jeans - Rue 21 (on sale!)
Cutout Booties - DSW (similar)
Grey Top - H&M
Sunnies - Zero UV
Necklaces - gift / vintage

I wore this out to grab a few beers at a local brewery (Lefthand) and eat Thai food with R and his sister while she was in town.  The mustard pants (or jeggings as the tag read - what an awful term) are new from an outlet store while we were driving home from the mountains.  And jeggings or not, they're super comfortable (and apparently on sale now)!  I paired it with a cozy sweater I picked up last month that I've been waiting for the cooler weather to wear.

Anyway, more exciting shop things happening, as I was asked to start selling my vintage in a local salon in my new town!  It will be my first in-person vintage location and I'm busy getting a collection together to bring over next week! Hurray!
Have a great weekend!

p.s. Do any of you guys use rewardstyle with your blogs?  I am just getting started with it and if you have any tips or want to tell me about your experience with it, I'd much appreciate it in the comments! :)

Raglan Army

Don't you love it when you just feel like YOU in a certain outfit? That is certainly the case with this one for me and this jacket is what my dreams are made of.  I have outfit photos saved on my computer of outfits that I wore and took photos of that just didn't really feel "me".  Those get saved for days I have nothing else to post, while outfits that make me happy I get excited by and post immediately!

Outfit Details
Army Jacket - c/o Oasap
Hat - Target (similar)
Boots - DSW
Purse - Vintage
Blouse - c/o August Wrinkle

So yeah, back to this jacket.  It arrived in the mail last week and it was still too warm to wear it so I hung it on our bedroom wall so I could stare dreamily at it until a cooler day rolled in.  It is super lightweight, has the perfect slightly oversized fit, and is basically just a really unique take on the classic army jacket.  The cream colored raglan sleeves have beautiful embroidery on them, and I wish I had gotten a better close-up to show you but you can look at it on the Oasap site too.  Anyway, I have sometimes been disappointed with products from this site in the past but this one for me was a gem, so if you're looking for a fun transitional piece I would highly recommend it!

Also, I just wanted to say thank you for the kind words and support in my last most about the opening of my mens vintage shop The Bearded Bandit!  Hope you're all having a great week so far!
