Mele Kalikimaka

A belated Mele Kalikimaka (Merry Christmas) from Hawaii! My brother and I flew in late Christmas eve to meet my parents in Kauai, lugging a ginormous suitcase full of my clothing and my family's gifts along.   We actually spent most of Christmas day relaxing and wrapping and celebrated the next morning instead.  This is what I wore out to dinner on Christmas day!
Outfit Details: Skirt - c/o Oasap // Blouse - c/o August Wrinkle // Heels - Ross //
Vintage Purse - gift from my mom!

I actually recreated the outfit I wore to Christmas dinner in the beautiful morning light yesterday before we caught an inter-island flight to Maui.  Today I am excitedly waiting R's arrival, as he has never been to this island before. We are also traveling with our family friends, and their kids arrive today too.  Its great because our two families LOVE to joke and play pranks on each other, etc., so the atmosphere is always full of laughter.  For example, for Christmas dinner that we had booked at a very popular restaurant days in advance, our family friend Mark dropped us off close to the restaurant to park the car. But then he actually sneakily beat us to the restaurant to convince the poor hostesses to play a trick on us and tell us they did not have our reservation anywhere in the system and they were fully booked.  The situation escalated from happy go lucky to extremely angry in about point five seconds as Mark watched the hilarity from around the corner.  I won't say which of us lost our cool the quickest (cough cough Mom). Finally Mark jumped out to announce his lovely Christmas joke and the situation was eased with some tropical Mai Tai's.
It's always strange posting summery outfits here while we are in the dead of winter in Colorado.  That said, its a pretty easy transition in this direction and a rude awakening on the opposite end of the trip! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and can't wait to share with you all where my travels bring me for a bit!
