Paisley in the Garden

So, I almost didn't post these because the lighting was driving me insane.  But then I realized, no one is actually going to care besides me!  Note to self: don't stand under a tree when there is direct sunlight shining through, though it may add interest if your looking for an artistic approach.  Anyway, these were taken outside of my house this weekend in a little garden path on the side.  I was crunched for time and just looking for a little spot of green.  Also, this is my bicycle, which I try to ride to work every day.  I got her off of Craigs List last autumn and she serves me very well! Minnie Moo (the bike) is a hybrid between a road bike and a cruiser, and I cannot wait to actually put a basket on the back wooden part so I can stop hauling everything to and fro on my own back!

Now on to more important things, like this adorable vintage dress I am wearing! About a month ago, I won a giveaway on Fancy Fine for a credit to Diane's shop Darling Vintage.  I picked this dress as soon as stumbled upon it in her beautifully curated shop, and she sent it to me right away.  I have worn it at least once a week since I got it.  I love the red color for fall, and it has a fun miniature paisley print.  I even wore it camping, which probably was not the best choice, but I was in the new dress honeymoon period and wasn't thinking straight. Does that happen to any of you with something new that you love?  Anyway, I highly recommend you head over to Darling Vintage and take a peak at all of the pretty things she has in her shop! I for one am currently coveting this scalloped ascot blouse!
Well, it's almost the weekend, thank goodness.  Can't wait to catch up on some ZZZs and enjoy the last days of summer.  Do you have any fun weekend plans?

  5. What a lovely dress! The red is so pretty with your skin. I've always wanted a cute bike like that. Sadly, where I live the only option is mountain bikes or fixed gears. I hope you share photos of it with the basket

  7. This dress is so much fun! It's just such a happy little number. And the necklace is a stunning addition. Also, I know nothing about photography (if you couldn't tell), so I think the lighting looks GREAT ;)

  9. Bike! How awesome! :D Haha, and I hate when light filters in through the trees, but don't worry! Your photos look fine. :)

  11. That's awesome you ride your bike to work everyday! I wish I lived within walking/riding distance, I hate having to drive everywhere but PHX is a total car city. That's an awesome bike, I would like something like that since my cruisers are not the easiest to ride... Cute dress! Lucky lady for winning that! My only fun plan this weekend is a pool party (prob the last one of the year), other than that homework. Hope yours is full of fun :)

  12. I actually really love the lighting, the dappled effect looks so pretty and autumnal. :) Your bike is amazing too, there was a student bike sale at my uni the other day and I was very tempted by a similar one, though it was £80 so I decided to keep hunting... Hope you have a lovely weekend!

  15. Gah! So happy to find your little space, my dear. happy to meet you! I have a vintage cruiser, too, and I LOVE it. I also wear dresses while riding around town (probably flashing half the city, but I care not). :) Love this dress! :) Have a great weekend!

  18. I feel ya on the shadows thing but these photos definitely deserve a spot on your blog - they are perfectly pretty and really portray the end of summer beautifully. Gosh what I would give to pick that tomato right now! The paisley dress was such a great pick - fall always puts me in the mood to wear red. I love the chucks with it too! I'm really feeling the need to dig out my old pair now!

That's pretty darn awesome that you are able to ride a bike to work. I wish things for flat enough around here for me to even just ride around my neighborhood - but I would have to really shape up hardcore to take on this mountain I live on..ha.

Have one loverly Saturday darling!! xo Marisa
