Jungle Fever

I have a notebook (well, multiple actually) sitting by my desk at work where I like to jot down project ideas, thoughts, finances, or outfit ideas that come into my head.  This outfit is a result of the notebook!  Though its pretty simple, I really liked the contrast of a fall color palette for summer clothing and am so happy I finally thrifted a pair of black ankle booties the other weekend- they are so verstaile and I really love how they can make an otherwise sweet looking dress a bit edgier.

Dress - for sale in my shop! // Booties- thrifted // Hat -Target

I am shocked that I got any usable shots of this outfit because it was SO windy while taking these. This dress is one of my favorite from the shop right now as it is covered in a fun tropical jungle print, yet manages to not venture into the tacky Hawaiian shirt arena.  Don't get me wrong though, I love a good tacky Hawaiian print sometimes! ;)
Anyway, hooray for Friday! I sure am ready to catch up on sleep, do a little hunting for the shop, and perhaps go out for a delicious brunch.  Definitely feeling a low key weekend!  Hope you all have a great one!

Apartment Inspiration

Hello! Just stopping in to share a bit of apartment inspiration today since I just moved to a new place.  You can find more of the pins and sources on my "Room Inspriation" board.

This is the first time in my life I have lived without roommates, so I am pretty excited to get to do whatever I want to a place! That said, it is only a tiny one bedroom apartment, so the living room area is actually doubles as my vintage and sewing studio.  It is definitely going to take lots of creative organization! I am trying to keep a balance between form and function and living vs. working, which is hard when I just want everything to look neat and pretty already.  The basic design themes I like are white and bright with pops of color and lots of plants!  I always like keeping my place neutral for the walls, bedding, etc. because if I get tired of the decor, then I just need to change the accents and not the important basics.
Do you guys use pinterest for home inspirations and planning?  If you have a board for this, leave a link in the comments because I would love to come take a peak!
Have a wonderful day!

Nautical Nature

Going back to work after a holiday weekend, ugh!  Sometimes five days seems so daunting.  I am finally settling in nicely to my new place though and had a great weekend, so I shouldn't be whining.
Outfit Details: Dress - Vintage, Tea and Tulips // Sandals - B.C. Footwear // Scarf - Vintage

After spending the day at the pool at R's place yesterday, we headed back to my place downtown and I made fish tacos for dinner- so good! We then went for a walk around my new neighborhood and found some awesome little hiking trails a few blocks down, which was an exciting discovery.  I have been feeling a bit lazy lately, eating lots of junk food and avoiding physical activity at all costs, so it would be nice to get back into a good routine and I think finding fun little hikes to do right out my back door would be a great place to start!
Anyway, this was another little nautical outfit I donned last week in the spirit of the 4th.  The romper I got last year from Steffy's vintage shop Tea and Tulips and its perfect for any patriotic holiday!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, what did you do?

Small Town America

Happy Friday!  I hope all of you in the U.S. have off work today, but unfortunately I am stuck here! I had a great day off for the 4th yesterday though so working today isn't too bad.  What did you guys do to celebrate America's birthday?

Outfit Details: Dress & Scarf - Vintage // Sandals - BC Footwear

R and I went to an awesome food truck party on Wednesday night to start off the holiday right.  We mixed up some tasty mojitos and then walked to get some Mexican food truck dinner and and cupcakes from a dessert truck too!  Yesterday we had a really low key 4th, grabbing a picnic lunch from a little grocery store in this little adorable town above and then heading into the mountains to eat and lunge by the creek.  It rained a little but but we made a makeshift sheet tent and waited for the sunshine to return.  We then headed back to drink a few beers, make a pizza, and bake some chocolate chip cookies to finish off the night! So yeah, we rang in America's birthday with lots of delicious junk food, which is pretty appropriate right?
Any plans for the weekend? I know this is a big camping and mini holiday weekend for a lot of people, but my plan is to avoid the crowds and enjoy my first weekend at my new apartment.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

p.s.  I will leave you with this gem.  If you are wondering what sitting on a scalding hot metal bench looks like right as you realize its too hot and jump back up, now yo don't have to wonder anymore!

Persunmall Wishlist

Recently, a new-to-me company called Persunmall reached out to me to see if I wanted to do a bit of a collaboration with them.  Not one to pass on the opportunity to work with a company that has a great selection of cute clothes, I happily obliged. I was asked to curate a list of current favorites from their shop, so without further adieu, here are my finds!
This chiffon blouse is covered in puppies- need I say more?

I would love to have this in my closet to wear for the 4th of July! Or, everyday.

I would love this little floral cropped bustier to pair with a flowy maxi skirt!

I know we are in the middle of summer, but this would be the PERFECT dress for fall!

If I had plans to attend a festival this summer, I would love to bring this dress along!
With the t-strap being a nod to the past and the metallic cap toe being a nod to the future, I think this flat is the perfect mix of vintage and modern!

Hope you enjoyed my picks! Which one is your favorite?  I hope all of you in the good ole U.S.A. have exciting plans for the 4th tomorrow! I decorated sugar cookies like flags last night to bring to work today which you can see on my instagram here!  I am not much of a baker, but I sure do like doing cheesy holiday things like decorating cookies! R and I are going to a food truck party tonight and then we are probably going to spend our day off tomorrow by the creek or pool!  Enjoy!

Bubblegum Mint

I just wanted to share a few more pictures from the set I posted over on the Flock Together blog yesterday in case you missed them!
Outfit Details: Dress- borrowed from Jenna // Jacket - Vintage //
Floral Crown - DIY // Shoes - gift from Mom
As I explained before, I had been wanting to shoot by this abandoned building in a gas station parking lot for awhile now.  I definitely have an affinity for run down and broken places, as I often find they have much more character than shiny new things.  To create a contrast with the backdrop, I donned some of  my girliest duds, including this gorgeous mint dress I was lucky enough to borrow from Jenna of Smitten!  I wish all of you lovely bloggers lived closer so I could do some fun shoots with you, I just love scouting locations and creating a story in my head about how I want a set of images to be.  Still saving up for that new lens, but man did moving put a bit of a dent in that fund!
Anyway, I hope you all are having a great week! I can't wait to share a few snaps of my new place when I get a bit more settled!
