Bubblegum Mint

I just wanted to share a few more pictures from the set I posted over on the Flock Together blog yesterday in case you missed them!
Outfit Details: Dress- borrowed from Jenna // Jacket - Vintage //
Floral Crown - DIY // Shoes - gift from Mom
As I explained before, I had been wanting to shoot by this abandoned building in a gas station parking lot for awhile now.  I definitely have an affinity for run down and broken places, as I often find they have much more character than shiny new things.  To create a contrast with the backdrop, I donned some of  my girliest duds, including this gorgeous mint dress I was lucky enough to borrow from Jenna of Smitten!  I wish all of you lovely bloggers lived closer so I could do some fun shoots with you, I just love scouting locations and creating a story in my head about how I want a set of images to be.  Still saving up for that new lens, but man did moving put a bit of a dent in that fund!
Anyway, I hope you all are having a great week! I can't wait to share a few snaps of my new place when I get a bit more settled!

No, What kind of bird are YOU?

This week has thrown me for a loop. Not that I am complaining really, but having the Fourth off right in the middle of the week was a little bit confusing.  Wednesday felt like it should be Saturday, no? I spent my fourth without really doing any typical Fourth of July activities like barbequing, swimming, or watching fireworks, but it was still a nice day!  In the morning we went for a bike ride to get iced coffee and muffins, but it was super hot as usual, so the riding part didn't last too long.  We then invited R's mom to go see Moonrise Kingdom with us, thinking we would have the whole theatre practically to ourselves in the middle of the day on the fourth. Wrong. It was so hot out, that everyone had the same idea! The movie was adorable though and I would pretty much wear Suzy's outfit every day if I could.  Then, we went to a new diner and had breakfast for dinner! So, even though it may not have been how I have celebrated in the past in New Jersey, with bike riding, a trip to the movies, and breakfast for dinner at a 50s style diner, it still felt like a good All-American sort of day!
Outfit Details:
Secretary Dress: Vintage, for sale in shop
Belt: vintage from this dress
Floral Crown: DIY
Heels: thrifted
Purse: Ross

Anyway, I am loving this soft grey secretary dress that is now for sale in my shop.  I had a hard time styling it almost because there were so many options! With a versatile cut and color, it can really easily be dress up or down.  I paired it with bright blues and yellows because, hey, its summer, and I was taking pictures in a field! Also, my shop is having a huge summer sale right now, so you can take 30% off your entire order with the coupon code JULY30 at checkout!
It's supposed to get down to seventy degrees this weekend and be overcast, and I could not be happier! I never thought I would say that, because I love summer and sun, but I need a little mini break from the near 100 degree heat wave we have had here for weeks! We may go to a brewery after work because the gourmet grilled cheese food truck is going to be there and I haven't been able to catch it yet! Grilled cheese and beer, hooray Friday!

Do you have any exciting weekend plans?

ps. The post title is an adorable quote from Moonrise Kingdom if anyone was confused :)

Airplanes and Grassy Plains

It is Friday, hooray! I started off my morning with a nice large cup of coffee from my favorite local coffee shop here in Boulder called Ozo.  I had my namesake coffee called the "Hannah Bee", which is a mocha with hints of vanilla and honey in it.  They have a specialty Mocha list and everything I have tried on it is wonderful.  They have a Mayan mocha which has cocoa nibs and some sort of chipotle spice, a red velvet mocha with raspberries, and so many more unique and delicious creations. I hate the coffee at work, but would be even more broke if I got coffee out every day.  So, I usually only allow myself a special cup on Fridays as something to look forward to at the end of the long week.  Do you make special days for certain things so you have something to look forward to or as a way to budget money better?

Outfit Details:
Shorts: thrifted/ altered
Wedges: thrifted
Bow Earrings: Romwe
Glasses: Ray Ban

So, these pictures were taken last weekend.  I just got in my car and drove for a few minutes away from town and ended up by the tiny Boulder airport which had some sort of glider show going on.  It was amazing!  I found a little grassy prairie at the end of a little residential area and tried to time my tripod to catch pictures of the planes that were taking off every five minutes or so.  It was kind of a trying process, but it was beautiful and interesting to watch either way!
I am wearing the prettiest baby blue vintage blouse with a perfect little lace collar that is now available in my shop.  The shorts I am wearing I thrifted a few months ago, but they were almost knee length and got buried in my endless alterations pile.  I finally got around to them last weekend and I love them now! They are slightly high waisted, have large ruched pockets, a tiny polka dot print, and a huge bow.  Oh and the best part- the back of the waist is elastic, so it gives a tiny bit of breathing room unlike other high waisted denim that I have- I love the way it looks, but man oh man, I want to tear those things off (or at least unbutton the top button) within an hour of putting them on!
I am also wearing my glasses in a few photos, since I don't think they have ever made an appearance on here before! I usually only wear them for driving at night or going to the movies, but I brought them so I could see the planes better.  Also, thank you for all of your kind words about my training at work, it has been going well! You guys are the best! Any fun plans for the weekend? I want to hear about them!
