Tis the Season

Hi guys,
Did you have a good weekend?  Mine was pretty busy running errands and working on gifts, but I am sure most people are doing the same!  I always have grand plans for homemade and DIY presents, but this year I don't know where the time has gone.  I think as long as a gift is thoughtful though it is still good!  The most daunting task by far will be to fit all of them in my suitcase to Hawai'i!  I am already not the lightest of packers, so its going to be interesting to say the least!
Outfit Details
Shoes - c/o American Apparel
Hat: Brixton via Karmaloop
Dress - Vintage/ gift
Tights: Target
I wore this little festive outfit yesterday to treat R and his Mom to an early holiday brunch, which was the best part of my weekend!  We went to one of my favorite places called Lucille's that has THE BEST bloody Mary's and the best ketchup I have ever had.  They make both in house, and I bought a ketchup and bloody mary mix to take home with me as well. For brunch they had delicious french toast with home made cinnamon syrup and I had a delicious veggie Eggs Benedict.  Sheesh can you tell I am hungry right now?  R's Mom also completely spoiled me with a bag of amazing gifts, and R and I are celebrating Christmas this week before I leave! What a fun but busy time!
Cheers,

Double Double Toil and Trouble

Hi Guys,
Half way to the weekend! This is an outfit I wore out to dinner and a movie this past Sunday and its probably one of my favorite in a while.  Along with the rest of the fashion community, I am in love with deep colors and velvet, and this little dress pretty much has it all.  It used to be closer to floor length, but I shortened the hem a bit to give it a little more modern vibe.  It will be listed in the shop tonight; another one I will be sad to part with but really excited to see what lovely gal makes it theirs! Sometimes I wish I could put a tracking chip into my vintage pieces so I could really see all the amazing places they go! (Okay that's admittedly kind of creepy...)
  Outfit Details:
Shoes: Vintage/ thrifted
Necklace: Vintage/ gift
Hat: Target
And speaking of a little creepy, I was feeling a little witch like in this outfit, but I am really kind of loving the darker bohemian vibe of it all!  I had to get this hat from Target immediately after seeing it on the lovely Katie's blog! The perfect finishing touch was my new "Jack the Lad" by Butter London nail polish that the awesome people over at Karmaloop sent over for me to try!  Green is my absolutely favorite color, and the deep emerald color with golden flecks makes this my number one favorite nail polish I have ever owned- and that's saying a lot! I also got this amazing deep fuchsia colored one which called "Fiddlesticks" which I cannot wait to pair with a champagne colored holiday dress and curly hair.  "Scuppered", "Shag", and "Royal Navy" are next on my lust list, and I think this little trio would make THE PERFECT holiday gift for a friend!
Have you guys tried any polish from Butter London? What is your go-to holiday nail color for the holidays?

Grizzly Bears and Tribal Prints

Happy Friday!
Boulder is covered in a pretty layer of white snow.  I am trying to embrace it because the streets aren't bad and it is actually making everything look beautiful and serene.  I thought this was the perfect outfit to post on a snow day! Not a REAL snow day people, I am still at work- just a day with snow! I don't even know if Coloradans DO snow days.  Growing up in New Jersey, all we needed was a few inches and a night of wearing your pajamas inside out to cancel school the next day.

Outfit Details:
Sweater: Vintage/ thrifted
Boots: Target
Grizzly Leggings: French Connection UK via Sears
Collar Necklace: Apris Loves via Etsy
I wore this cozy outfit to the cabin last weekend, but I have been wearing some version of this for about two weeks now.  Comfy leggings, an oversized sweater, and boots is my go-to uniform when the temperatures quickly drop.  Sometimes I add a scarf if I am feelin' fancy.  I usually try to avoid wearing leggings on the blog, but these ones have grizzly bears on them so I thought maybe the cool factor would partially cancel out the slob factor. I have also been carrying this adorable little Pendelton bag around with me everywhere that I got from Karmaloop! It is actually supposed to be a cosmetics case, but I have been throwing my cell phone and lip balm in it and carrying it as a little clutch because it is too cute to just stay at home! I recently bought my boater hat (seen in this post) from Karmaloop and it has been another fall favorite of mine. Next on my list is one of their travel duffel bags, which is promptly being put on my wishlist for Christmas!
Anyway I want to hear everyone's fun plans for Halloweekend! R and I are going as batman and catwoman, probably along with the rest of the free world.  I know a lot of people did not like Anne Hathaway as catwoman in the Dark Night Rises, but I thought she was great, so that's what I am basing my costume off of!  Did you see it? What did you think? Can't wait to hear all the fun things you have planned!

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Hi Guys,
Busy day at work today so I have to keep this short! I am pretty tired, but my sanity is being kept intact by this giant pumpkin spice latte sitting in front of me that I am trying my hardest to sip slowly and not guzzle. Anyway.  I am pretty happy with how these pictures turned out! I barely had to do any editing, the colors and lighting just naturally work perfect which to me is such a blessing sometimes.  You would never guess that just moments before I was huddled in my car waiting for a downpour to let up!

 Outfit Details:
Dress: Vintage- for sale in shop!
Hat: Brixton, via KarmaLoop
Red Oxfords: c/o American Apparel
Skinny Belt: F21
I have been eyeing this hat for months, and I made out like a bandit when I saw it for sale on Karmaloop.  So happy with it, I want to wear it every day!  I paired it with this rainbow vintage dress that is for sale in my shop and my trusty red American Apparel oxfords.  While usually the tripod and self timer are my nemesis, sometimes I really like the freedom they allow you to be yourself.  Instead of standing in front of someone prancing around looking like a fool, I can do it all by my lonesome! That last shot I got in only three tries, and I really wanted to make a little moving gif out of the other two failures along with it because it looks like I am flapping like an overly excited ostrich.  I also wanted to make one of the shots where it was just the scenery in one and then I appear out of nowhere in the next because it looks like I am a time-traveling Looper.  Did you guys see that movie? I saw it last weekend and was pretty impressed!
Alright, hope you guys are having a great day- we're half way through the week, we got this!
