Heart on my Sleeve

So, I'm pretty sure every time I wear this sweater on the blog I titled the post the same thing.  I am not sure there is any better title for a sweater where there's actually hearts on your sleeves, but if you have any ideas I would love to hear them!
Outfit Details - Sweater - c/o Oasap // Scarf - handmade/ DIY // Pants - Calvin Klein (from Costco in hawaii of all places!) // Shoes - vintage/ thrifted

Anyway, I didn't really dress up for Valentines day itself because after working all day R and I just watched a movie, ordered heart shaped pizza, and ate the heart shaped cake that I made! But, after Jenna posted a valentines roundup on her blog last week, I remembered I owned this sweater so I wore it the following day when we headed into Denver to go to our favorite bookstore and record shopping.  The heart shaped balloon actually came with the heart pizza we ordered, so I of course had to use it in the photos for the sake of tradition!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and if you're in the U.S., I hope you're lucky enough to have the day off for Presidents day today!

p.s. My hair still isnt long enough for a top knot like this since I decided to chop it again right before the holidays (ugh), but I have been using this hairstyle ring from H&M and I love having the ability to easily put it up like this again!

Happy Valentines Day!

Hello hello, and Happy Valentines day to all of you! Here is an outfit that has red in it, so I am calling it my Valentines Day outfit even though these are from last weekend ;)
Outfit Details: Fisherman's Cape Sweater - Vintage, for sale in the shop here! // Plaid Blouse
Vintage, for sale in the shop here! // Boots - Vintage (in the shop soon!) // Jeans - thrifted

My real life valentines day outfit will probably be whatever I throw in my bag to change into after the gym this morning.  And let's be real, it will probably involve spandex. (Sorry R!)  Our plan is to make or buy a heart shaped pizza and rent a movie for a snugly low key night in and then do a little something on another day this weekend instead. We decided we would rather spend the money on a mini roadtrip or something this year than the usual gifts. What are your plans for the day, I love to hear how other people do or don't celebrate!

p.s. Since its the day of love, I have to say thank you to R for always being such a huge help with my blog photos! :)

Happy Valentines Day!

Outfit Details: Dress - vintage/ gift // Flats: vintage/ thrifted // Floral Crown - DIY
Happy Valentines Day!
Whether or not you celebrate Valentines Day or not, I hope your day is filled with love! I baked and decorated some cookies for work to spread some cheer.  Then R and I are doing a very simple and relaxed night in cooking dinner and watching a movie!  No crowded restaurants for us!
My mom sent me this gorgeous vintage dress from she found at a thrift store in Hawaii for a Valentines gift, thanks mom! I took up the hem a bit and paired it with a festive floral crown and bow flats and felt very "me".
What do you guys have planned for tonight, I'd love to hear!  Have a wonderful day!

p.s. Make sure to enter the Shabby Apple giveaway for a chance to win a little treat for yourself, it ends tomorrow! :)

Be Mine

Happy Valentines Day!
Taking a break from the island posts to bring you a little wintry whimsy!  I love the way that snow makes every other color seem more special and important.  I have been whining about it a lot lately since returning from vacation, but today, I am embracing it!  I found this lovely pink vintage dress last week and it is so cozy.  I cannot decide if I am going to be putting it in the shop or keeping it yet.  I love that it has a fresh spring color, but is warm enough to wear while it is still chilly out too.  The pink and grey reminds me of my my friend Michelle who is queen of that color combo whom I miss! You should check out her tumblr if you are in the mood to smile.  For example, her current Valentine post is "I love you more than Kanye love Kanye!"

Outfit Details:
Dress: Vintage
Tights: Target
Wedges: DSW (MIA Pampa Desert Booties)
Necklace & Earrings: Forever21

So R and I decided to not really do gifts this year but still plan to spend a nice evening together after work.  I am super excited because I thrifted an adorable little (hershey kiss shaped) fondue pot that we are going to cook a special little dinner in.  Fondue is my favorite! I think we are going to try a sharp cheddar-garlic-beer combo, because really, how could you go wrong with that! Then, we each pitched in for a hotel in Denver this weekend so we can enjoy the city and avoid the craze of doing anything on actual Valentines Day.

I hope all of you have a terrific day, whether you are doing a movie night with the girls, spending time with a loved one, or ignoring the holiday and just having a nice night to yourself! I always appreciate all of your kind words here! I would love to hear of your plans for the night!
Love, Hannah
