Cupid's Arrow

One of my favorite parts of writing a so called "fashion" blog is sharing adventures and pretty scenery with you guys.  For me, its usually just as much about finding a good backdrop as it is about putting together a nice outfit.  I like to think of each post as a mini lookbook that evokes a feeling and a fin viewing experience of my surroundings for my readers (and for myself)!  That said, this weather has been getting me a bit down, and I am growing pretty tired of throwing my down jacket off for the sake of outfits snaps and having the wind ruin 3/4 of the shots I take!  I definitely still plan to go on adventures and find pretty scenic places to take photos, but for the time being, I am also going to do a few posts inside too. I hope you guys will bear with me!
Outfit Details:
Dress: Ruche, swapped with Ashley // Tights: Francesca's Collections, gift // Heels: thirfted //
Chevron Necklace: DIY by me // Belt: came on an old dress // Hat: Brixton

My bedroom acts as both my office and studio for my vintage shop, so I decided to add a few cute touches to the area I typically take listing pictures!  I always have some of my current favorite vintage dresses hanging on the wall as decoration, and added a little flag bunting I made above them. I am so excited to have an indoor space I am happy with to take some pictures in, its definitely going to make blogging a bit easier.
On to the dress! I borrowed this from the lovely Ashley of Southern (California) Belle through our swap blog Flock Together!  I am pretty sure she originally got this dress for her engagement photos, so I felt so privileged to be able to borrow such  a cute and special piece from her, thanks Ashley! You can see how Ashley styled it on her blog here (aren't the polka dot tights the cutest?!)  I decided to pair it with a pair of lacy grey tights a friend got me for Christmas, a necklace I made, and pops of red.
I hope you guys have a fun weekend planned! Happy Friday!
xo Hannah

  1. I wish I could take indoor photos! We live in a very very old house that has really bad lighting all the time.
I love these photos, and the way you styled this dress is absolutely perfect!! I love the teeny tiny hearts all over it and the tights you paired it with :)

  11. Your outdoor pictures are breathtaking, but your room looks adorable! I love the bunting and the white dresses on the walls. I wish I had a room with that much light (and that little clutter)!

  13. Oh Hannah, I feel the exact same way about blogging. Half of it is finding the backdrop and making them like minilook books (one of the advantages of living in the Rockies, I suppose.) Still, this indoor area you've created is darling and really smart!

As for the outfit- that belt really gives the look a very different feeling. It is cute on you.

  15. Hannah you are so darling! Even your inside backdrop is perfectly adorable. I love the banner, the pretty dresses and your awesome mat that looks so realistic I almost forget it's not wood floors. Plus, you look super pretty in Ashley's dress especially with those amazing tights!!

Haha, oh man, I know, I hate taking pictures indoors, but some days, its intolerable to go outside. I think you've actually got a nice setup for indoor shooting. :)

  18. I totally know what you are saying. The weather outside is horrible, and I can't wait for it to get nicer. It's so hard to take pictures outside! Your room looks really pretty tho! Anyway, I love this dress! The hearts are so adorable!

  22. That's totally cute Hannah! I love Ashley's dress on you (of course) and your room is just the bees knees. What a perfect wood floor you have. Your work area looks charming. Mine is in my guest bedroom and I totally need to give the whole space a makeover as the previous owners had well...different taste than me. Old lady blue walls and 80s floral border is not cute at all. I love your idea of making a bunting and hanging your favorite vintage dresses. It's when I see things like this that I want to immediately run to the craft store and get to work :-)
