Emerald Sunflowers

Happy Friday!
I for one am pretty happy the weekend is almost here because I am in need of some major down time!  I unfortunately have been working all week while I have Bronchitis which has not been the most fun combination ever.  I am feeling on the up swing though and am ready to take on the 90+ degree weekend, hopefully while laying on a giant float in the middle of a pool.
Outfit Details: Dress - c/o August Wrinkle // Tights- thrifted // Sunnies - c/o American Apparel
Shoes - vintage // Collar - Ampris Loves

This amazing green dress was sent to me by the lovely people over at August Wrinkle and I couldn't be happier with it.  These pictures were taken last weekend, but I wish I had waited to take pictures because I have since dyed my hair reddish and am going even more red this weekend! Aren't redheads supposed to look best in green? I need to learn these things!  Anyway, I love the detail on the back of this dress, and because it is a solid color, I decided to pair it with my crazy sunflower print tights to mix things up a bit.  I will be missing this street outside of R's house as my go-to photo taking location now that he's moved, but I'll just have to find a new one.  And plus, now there's a swimming pool so I'd say that's a fair trade!
Have a great weekend!

DIY Heart Pillow

In the midst of helping R move into his new apartment all weekend, I actually found a bit of free time on Sunday to do some crafting that has been on my list for forever.  Around Valentines Day, I saw an oversized plush heart pillows at target that I really wanted but wanted to try making myself.  I immediately went out and bought red fuzzy fabric, and now three and a half months later, I actually sat down to make the pillow!
Supplies Needed: Fabric, pillow stuffing, scissors, ruler, marker, pins, needle, thread, sewing machine (or you can hand sew it if you are feeling ambitious and don't have a machine!)
1. Draw out a large heart on the back side of the fabric.  I did mine by hand and use a ruler to draw in some center lines so it was even.
2.  Cut out the heart, but cut about a 1/4 or 1/2 and inch on the outside of the line. This way, you can actually use the line as what you will be following for your seam.
3. Sew along the line, slowly turning the fabric as you go around the curves.
4. Leave an opening in the bottom of the heart so you can easily stuff the polyester filling inside.
5.  Turn the fabric right side out and stuff, trying to make sure it is even.
6. Hand sew the bottom opening closed with a needle and thread.
TA DA! Now you have a cute throw for your bedroom or couch!
This was my first time trying something like this and it was really easy and more affordable than buying pillows from the store.  I love me some throw pillows, but man can they get pricey! Have you guys ever tried making your own pillows or plush toys before? I think I want to try a kitty stuffed animal or something next! Any recommendations?

p.s. I am posting over on Flock Together today and would love if you guys stopped by to say hello!

The Great Auditorium

Hooray for it being Wednesday already! I hope the work week if flying by for everyone. Here is another round of pictures taken while I was home in New Jersey.  These were taken at a historic landmark by my parents house in Ocean Grove called The Great Auditorium, which is even more impressive on the inside!
Outfit Details: Blouse & Necklace - c/o August Wrinkle // Pants - c/o American Apparel //
Shoes - vintage, borrowed from Mom // Bag - Vintage, Dooney & Bourke

We also snapped a few pictures in front of the start of the summer tents that go up around town.  They are little tent houses that people live in during the summer months there, and there's row upon row of colorful striped awnings! I was wearing a new blouse and necklace that the lovely people at August Wrinkle sent to me, and I can't get enough of the pretty sequined collar. You can expect to see lots more of it this summer!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Bed & Breakfast

Hello & Happy Memorial Day!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful long weekend here in the states.  Just wanted to stop in quickly to share some more snaps from my vacation home to New Jersey last week.
Outfit Details: Red Linen Dress - Vintage - for sale in shop here! // Shoes & Scarf - Vintage

We stayed one night at this adorable Bed and Breakfast in Cape May.  As usual, I decided to match my backdrop in a vintage red linen dress from my shop, paired with a vintage scarf for a bit of a nautical vibe.  Even though I adore the mostly pastel Victorians around Cape May, I loved our primary colored bed and breakfast as well.
Anyway, I am off to hopefully get a bit of sunshine, work on the shop, and enjoy my day off!

Abbey Road

Happy Friday!
This week was great.   Because I was still home in New Jersey for the first part of the week, I only had a three day work week, followed by a three day weekend. This is something I could get used to!  Do you guys have any fun plans for the weekend?

Outfit Details: Blouse - c/o August Wrinkle // Pinafore Dress - Vintage //
Boots - Vintage, borrowed from Mom // Purse - Vintage, Dooney & Bourke

The idea behind this shoot was to be based on The Beatles Abbey Road album cover, which was my moms brilliant idea!  She was quite the Beatles fan girl growing up (and still is). She took all my pictures for me while I was home too - it was so nice not having to lug a tripod home in my suitcase with me!  I donned my most London-esque clothing I had with me, which was all vintage besides this beautiful Peter Pan collared blouse from the lovely people over at August Wrinkle.  I think I have worn it three times since I got it a week ago because its adorable and goes with everything!  The outfit needed a pop of color so I grabbed a heart balloon leftover from my brother's graduation party decor for a bit of fun.
Also wanted to let you guys know the lovely Gabrielle from the blog Hippie Go Lucky interviewed me and did a feature on my shop, which was so sweet of her! You can read it here if you are interested!
Anyway, I hope you all have a beautiful weekend! It is supposed to be in the mid 80s here and mostly sunny.  My game plan is to be outside as much as possible, while actually doing as little as possible!
