Army + Chambray

Happy Friday!
This is just a simple outfit I wore to work yesterday on a bright and chilly day.  R and I went to look at a new apartment for him before work and these were taken right near it- what a view! There was a ton of open space around and even prettier views possibly than where he lives now.  It would be a tiny bit further from the mountains, so you get the view of the whole front range, which still capped in snow. Also there were cute bunnies and prairie dogs hopping and scurrying about.

Outfit Details: Dress & Shoes- vintage// Jacket & Cardigan- thrifted // Tights- Marshalls //
One of my best friends from home (my college roommate) sent me this adorable chambray dress for my birthday a few months ago! It seriously pairs with every single color of the rainbow and I can't wait to style it a million more ways. Thanks Rachel!
Oh yeah, and the building that you can spot in the second to last scenery picture? That's where all the Celestial Seasonings tea is made!  The mint room in there is crazy! And Sleepytime tea anyone? Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Feelin' Fancy Fine

This past weekend brought some Spring-like weather for us here in Colorado, so R and I decided to drive into the mountains a few miles to one of our favorite warm weather parks by a creek.  Our plan was to sit on the little picnic benches eating our packed sandwiches and soaking up some sunshine, but the wind had other plans and actually made it a bit more miserable and chilly than anticipated. I tried to choose a few pictures where my hair wasn't stuck to in my lipstick and my tent dress wasn't plastered to my thighs. So without further adieu, I present to you a cute yet highly impractical outfit for a windy mountain picnic!

Outfit Details: Dress- borrowed from Elana // Shoes- B.A.I.T footwear, via Modcloth // Tights- Target
Purse- thrifted // Scarf- Vintage // Sunnies- c/o American Apparel

A bit more about what I am wearing.  I borrowed this wonderful dress from Elana of Room 334 and was so excited when she put it up for swapping in our Flock Together group!  Even more exciting is that this dress is the Modcloth namesake dress of Ashley from the blog Fancy Fine.  I absolutely love Ashley's quirky vintage style and her blog was one of the main one's that inspired me to start my own!  So, the t-strap sandals, rust colored tights, and floral tapestry bag are a little ode to Fancy Fine! You can see how Elana styled the dress on her blog here, and if you are interested in seeing more swaps and remixes, make sure to stop by the Flock Together blog!

Plain White Tee

Last weekend, I had to make a few returns at the mall and stopped in at Forever21 while I was there.  While definitely over half of everything I buy is second hand, I can't resist stopping in that store when I am there since I am so rarely at a mall.  Anyway, I picked up this plain white tee with a little ruffle peplum bottom while I was there and definitely think its going to be one of the most worn things in my wardrobe this spring - I got it in turquoise too and they are so comfortable!  I think they were about $8, I highly recommended picking one up! I also picked up this pair of polka dot denim and cannot remember the last time I posted wearing jeans on this blog, let alone with a baseball cap.  So, I thought it would be fun to show two slightly different version of the same outfit, one super casual and one a teeny bit more dressed up with booties.
 Version 1:
Version 2:
 Outfit Details:
Version 1: Jeans and Tee- Forever 21 // Necklace- c/o Oasap // Flats- Keds // Hat- Obey via Urban Outfitters (borrowed from R) Version 2: Booties- Blowfish (won in giveaway)

Which version do you prefer? I am really loving the little pops of bright colors in the first version, but its a pretty big change from the outfits I usually post on here!  Would you guys be interested in seeing more of my low key outfits like this, or do you prefer the dresses that I usually post? I am trying to change my mindset that jean and a tee is too "boring" to post, but I don't think that has to be the case!
I hope everyone had a terrific weekend! Mine was a really good mix of productive and relaxing but was way too short as usual.  Now its back to the grind!

Minty Florals

It's supposed to reach seventy degrees here today and its Friday, a double win if I ever saw one.  The icing on the cake is that this is my fifth day of my 30 days of clean eating, but I am treating myself to my Friday latte as a bit of a splurge. It's going to taste so yummy after a week full of lots of fruit, veggies, and black coffee only. Guys, it's the little things!

Outfit Details: DressVintage - in shop this weekend! // Purse- Vintage (my Mom's from the 70s) // Tights & Socks- Target // Sunnies- BCBG Max Azria // Cardigan - gift // Boots- Beyond the Rack

These photos were actually taken two weekends ago, hence the snow covered ground. Not that I ever actually stopped wearing floral for the winter, but you're going to be seeing a lot more of it as I am now stocking my shop chock full of pretty spring and summer prints! Lot's of sewing to be done this weekend, hopefully mixed in with some fun outdoors adventures. Do you guys have anything good planned? I hope so!

Bedroom/ Studio Snapshots

Last week I posted about possibly sharing a little tour of my bedroom, and since a few of you seemed to be interested, here it goes! I live in a house with two roommates and we share all the common areas such as the living room and kitchen, so my room is really the only thing I got to decorate as my own space.  This also means that my bedroom acts as my vintage studio as well.  I have an area I use for shooting listing pictures (on my "wooden" photo mat), racks of vintage lining the back wall, and a sewing desk for all of the alterations I do for the shop. Needless to say, it's sometimes hard to stay organized with all of that going on in one room!
Anyway, it's always a work in progress, as I get antsy every few months and change things around, but this is what it looks like in its current state! Hope you like it!

That's it! Sorry for the picture overload, I wanted a good mixture of little detail shots as well as photos that would give you a feel of the whole room.  So thats where I run my shop from, sleep, and watch way to many trashy tv shows from!  If you want to know where anything is from, etc., just leave me a comment and I'll respond! Hope you liked the little tour!

A Picnic Dress

Colorado was graced with a gorgeous warm and sunny weekend, a little preview to what will hopefully soon become the norm around here.  Sunday was one of those bright blue Colorado days where it was just great to just be outside, and a yummy Easter brunch, a round of mini golf, and way too much chocolate certainly didn't hurt either!  How was you weekend?
Outfit Details: Dress- c/o eShakti (similar) // Booties - Blowfish // Necklace- gift (old) // Floral Crown - DIY

This dress from eShakti makes me so excited for spring and summer picnics by the creek.  At first when chose it I thought it was white and green gingham, but it turns out its light pink and green- even better because it reminds me of watermelon! Since you can customize the clothing from eShakti, I chose to add little sleeves to my dress, a scoop neck, and shorten the hem a bit, and it fits me like a glove! Once again, I could not be happier with the quality pieces and the customizable options that eShakti offers.
The flower crown is one I made a few weeks ago for Spring, but the size of the flowers is a bit intimidating for me to actually wear out in public!  Also, for the month of April I am doing a 30 day healthy eating challenge which I am actually kind of excited to start! I probably won't be talking about it much on the blog, but if you have any questions about what I am doing, feel free to leave a comment or send me a message! That said, I made sure to shovel almost every single piece of Easter candy in my mouth last night so I wouldn't have any tempting tidbits laying around my room!
Hope everyone's having a great start to the week!
