Cream Pleats

Good Morning!  Hope you guys are having a sunny and productive week so far.  I've been shooting lots of new vintage for the shop, all while trying to not be distracted by living with kitty again (and failing).  My phone is going to quickly run out of storage at the rate I'm going, stopping my work every five minutes to snap a photo of whatever Lilikoi is doing. But I mean, look at that face!  Even R, who has always been a dog person his whole life, is becoming a proud cat-dad.  He and I  coo and cluck at the cat likes crazed idiots to compete to see who she will come to first for the prized title of "who Lilikoi currently loves more"...

Outfit Details
Dress - Vintage - for sale in the shop here!
Jacket - c/o Oasap
Heels - Target (similar)
Sunnies - Lulus (similar)
Headband - vintage

Okay, done with the cat lady tirade (for this post at least) and onto the outfit.  I kept this beautiful vintage dress in my collection of cream colored dresses that I hoard for myself for no reason for about two years, but finally decided to be nice and share, so you can find it in the shop here.  I will be adding a bunch of new dresses over the next couple of days as well, so keep your eyes peeled! Hope you guys have an awesome day!

Mountain Sun

Each time I come back to shoot blog photos on this little path in my neighborhood, these wild sunflowers are bigger and bigger.  Note to self when shooting on a dirt path though:  do not where stilettos.  I teetered around looking like a weirdo and sinking completely into the mud with each step I took.  I should just keep my mouth shut though and let you guys think I am graceful and sophisticated.
Outfit Details:
Patchwork Jacket - c/o Oasap
Jeans - Volcom
Sunglasses - Lulu*s
Heels - Shoemint

Its been cool and rainy the past few days here, so I jumped at the chance to take both shop and blog photos as soon as the sun came out yesterday.  I threw on this beautiful quilted jacket I just got in the mail, even though it was already much too hot to wear it.  For anyone who runs any sort of online shop, you know that natural sunlight is best for product photos, but boy is it frustrating when you plan to shoot listing pictures and then its too dark and gloomy for days so your work is stalled.  I think I should probably just invest in a better indoor lighting situation so I'm not so dependent on the weather, but lack of sunshine isn't typically a problem here in Colorado!

Anyway,  I am completely baffled that August has already arrived.  Lots of fun things planned this month.  Cheers to making the most of summer while its still around!

Red Brocade

Well, there has been a bit of radio silence over here for the past few days, but for good reason.  The town where I live in Colorado has been getting torrential downpours and catastrophic flooding for the past few days, but we finally seem to be out of the worst.  I left work early on Thursday to go home and move things off the floor and grab my foster kitty Pookie and we headed across town to R's, who lives on higher ground and further away from the creeks.  Everything turned out fine at my place, but I couldn't actually make it back across town to check if it was flooded or not for two days, so that was nerve-wracking to say the least! Definitely send your nice thoughts towards the people of this area though as its going to take awhile to rebuild the roads, homes, and businesses that were affected.

Outfit Details: Dress - c/o Persunmall // Fair Isle Blouse - Vintage, on sale in the shop here! //
Shoes - MIA // Tights - Target // Sunnies - Lulus

I actually feel kind of guilty even posting an outfit today, but I realize that's probably just silly and all you can really try to do is get back to normal in these kind of circumstances.  I actually wore this this weekend as the temperatures really dropped with all the rain, but it only really saw the inside of R's place and right outside his apartment.  Nevertheless, I love this dress I just got in the mail from Persunmall and couldn't wait to wear it! Even thought the brocade embroidery is kind of fancy and could easily be dressed up, I was actually thrilled how soft and comfortable the material was.  I can't wait to wear it for some sort of special occasion instead of while being stuck inside during a terrible storm.  I also apologize in advance for how much you'll be seeing these sunglasses.  I picked them up during the Lulu*s labor day sale after eying them longingly all summer.
Have a great start to your week!
