The Style Pendulum

I feel like my style is a swinging pendulum, going from super girly and feminine to very casual and androgynous.  I think it stems from the fact that I am a creature of comfort, preferring cozy sweaters and leggings, yet I also love to curate my vintage shop chock full of florals and peter pan collars which overflows into what I wear daily as well.  While I always feel the need to "define" my style, why is that actually necessary?  I think I'll just settle with wearing whatever I feel like at the moment.  I guess there's not always a need for defining labels, as this is a "personal" style blog - its all mine!
Outfit Details :Army Green Pants - c/o Oasap // Shoes - Converse High Tops // Backpack Herschel // Sweater - thrifted // Plaid Shirt -super old! // Hat - Polo Sport, borrowed from R

Just had to throw that out there. As for the outfit, I guess you can see which end the style pendulum was swinging towards on this day!  Living in a small studio space which is also my office and shop, storage space is at a minimum, which means I often "lose" items of clothing jammed way in the back of my teeny victorian closets.  So was the case with my Converse sneakers.  Now that they have been found again, you'll probably be seeing a lot more of them!  These army green pants I just received in the mail from Oasap, and boy are they warm! I wish I had them earlier in the season, as they are fully lined in a soft, thick fleece material on the inside.  And while this does wonders for warmth, I'm not sure it does wonders for self esteem, as it was like trying to pull on three pairs of pants at the same time!  They actually have a cute black contrasting waistband and pockets which you can see better on the listing page here.  I also see that they are on sale for only $18, so if you live in a cold climate and are a fan of fleece lining, I would recommend these pants but I would recommend going up a size (these are a large).
Anyway, hope you all are having a great week!

  1. Those pants are awesome--even more so when I hear that they're lined! I feel you on style definition and struggling to do that, and you're right that it's okay to just do what feels right on a given day and accept that it's all you :)

  2. You look super cute all casual.

I do the style pendulum thing too. I think blogging makes us want to label styles because so many fellow bloggers do have very defined styles (and good for them!) and there is much talk about niches and such. On the other hand, versatility is always good in style too :)

  4. I feel the same way about my style. For some reason I'm totally into sweatshirts and am even contemplating getting a pair of sneakers! (That's a big deal for me).

  5. You look awesome :) Love the color of your pants. My style shifts like this all the time too. I think it's okay to just dress for the moment/occasion.

  6. Love it girl! I think you look super cute dressed up and dressed down. It's easier to lean towards comfort more so when it's cold outside... ya know? Where are your buttons at so I can put you on my bloggy?
