Fruits n Veggies

Hi guys! More than half way to the weekend! Just stopping in with an outfit I wore earlier this week. This is the cutest vintage blouse (which should be in the shop next week) covered in fruits and veggies, which I wore to mark my first day of yet another cleanse I am doing.  I am on day three of ten, and then I may try to transition into the whole 30 directly after that because guys, I can't button my pants anymore. Its no good.  Wish me luck (or better yet, send some motivation and commitment my way, and don't you dare say "pizza" or "burrito" in my presence!)
Outfit Details:
Shorts + Blouse - Vintage
Sandals - BC Footwear via Swell
Sunnies - from market vendor in Italy

How good is that print? May cry a little when it goes up in the shop.  In other news, I am getting excited for my first in-person selling event at a local outdoor market next month, but am pretty intimidated my how much planning really goes into it!  I've gotten some great advice from a few blogging friends who sell at craft fairs though, and if you have ever sold at one (or even just visited one and have seen something you liked or disliked), please share your tips with me!

Sunset Plaid

There's nothing like wearing a psychedelic vintage plaid twin set in the middle of a wind tunnel in the blazing heat!  I LOVE this set that I did a little makeover to that is for sale in the shop, but my windswept hair is less like a shampoo commercial and more like a disaster stuck to my lipgloss.  Also, there were about 10,000 prairie dogs (or P-dogs as I like to refer to them as) barking angrily at me as I took these.  Just to set the mood for what is usually going on behind the scenes in my photos!

It's getting to that point in the summer that I start to feel a bit panicky about my weekends and all of the fun stuff I want to do that you can only do in summer.  I want to go to an amusements park or water park, the zoo, the reservoir, picnics... the list goes on and on but time is flying by!

Do you have any good weekend plans? Have fun!

Hot Pink Hibiscus

I know I know, every Monday all everyone has to say is how very short the weekend was.  But this one seemed extra super duper short!  I think it also passed 100 degrees in temperature, so this is what I wore for a quick trip to the pool.

Outfit Details:
Dress - c/o August Wrinkle
Sunnies - c/o Sunglass Warehouse
Woven Bracelet - Mitla Moda (similar)
Sandals - hand-me-downs
Necklace - handmade by me!

This dress definitely could be dressed up and seem fancy, but the light floaty layers and hot pink color make it a perfect pool cover up too.  I paired it with a pair of folding sunglasses from Sunglass Warehouse (they literally fold up until their pocket -sized!), a matching woven fair trade bracelet from Mitla Moda, and a neon fringe necklace I made.
In high school and through college, I actually had my own small jewelry line called Tropichannah (get it... Tropicana... tropic hannah...okay then).  I had a little shop on Etsy and also made custom pieces and sets for special occasions, like bridesmaids jewelry for two of my cousins weddings.  I then moved to Colorado, started my career in the environmental field, and my hobby fell a bit to the wayside.  But now that I run my vintage shop full time, I am having a really good time getting back into some of my favorite creative passions, and am actually planning on launching a handmade shop on Etsy in the next few months too! This actually has been a plan in the works for awhile now, but since I am wearing a fringe necklace that would be in the shop, I thought it seemed like a good time to mention it here!  The handmade shop will also have a charitable component as well, with a portion of proceeds being donated to a cause I feel very passionately about - can anyone guess?! Anyway, let me know what you think, and if you have ideas for other colors your would like to see, etc., I would love to hear!

Watermelon Coconut

Ah, Monday.  Can't say I'm super happy to see you!  One of the things that often helps get me through a long week is waiting for fun mail to arrive, as was the case with these amazing sunglasses from Kameleonz that arrived a few days ago.

Outfit Details:
"Coconut" Sunnies - c/o Kameleonz
Red Oxfords - c/o American Apparel
Woven Bracelet - Mitla Moda
Skirt + Suspenders - thrifted
Boater Hat - Brixton via Karmaloop
Watermelon Tank - Target (girls)

If you've been reading my blog for more than five seconds, you know that I love me some cute sunnies. My collection is ever growing and I love how they can instantly change the look of an outfit.  Cat eyes make for a retro look, oversized round frames make me feel like some sort of celebrity, and these clear mirrored pair from Kameleonz make me feel like I'm headed to the beach!  Plus with product names like Coconut, Lava, and North Shore, they immediately make me feel like I am with my one true love... Hawaii!

What really makes this pair stand out for me over the other sunglasses I own though is the fact that they have interchangeable arms that you can switch in and out to match whatever you're wearing.  Here I am wearing the clear Coconut pair with "hemlock green" arms, but they also came with clear and tangerine arms that I can swap in whenever it suits my fancy.  Kameleonz is also offering everyone 20% off right now with the code SUMMER at checkout :)

These arrived just in time for me to take camping this weekend, but unfortunately they were unnecessary, as it was raining and overcast a huge part of the time.  Oh well, we still tried to make the best of it!  Have a great start to your week!

Puppies & Teal

Oh Monday, I tried to keep you at bay but as usual, you came anyway.  What better way to brighten up a Monday though than some colorful sunnies and a blouse that's covered in puppies?
Outfit Details: Blouse - c/o Oasap // Sunnies - c/o Oasap // Shorts  + Bow Flats - Vintage

I picked these out from Oasap, a company that is always fun to work with and has the cutest stuff.  I ordered these sunglasses and this blouse at the same time hoping to wear them together, and they didn't disappoint!  I do feel a bit like an alien in the glasses as they are a bit big for my face, but lets be honest, I still love them and will continue to wear them anyway!
In other very important news, its one of my best friends in the whole world's birthdays today, Happy Birthday Leigh! I have so many fun memories growing up with this gal.  One that popped in my head this morning was a Halloween where I dressed up my American Girl Doll like a clown, and I myself wore a clown suit and carried around my matching doll, while Leigh dressed up like a panda bear and carried her matching panda bear stuffed animal.  The photo I am picturing is priceless, we were just SO cool!  Leigh would definitely approve of me wearing all these blue tones and a shirt covered in puppies since she herself has the cutest puppy-baby named Belle.  She also just got engaged, which calls for double congratulations! I just wish we lived closer! For those of you who have moved far away from home or have good friends who have all moved away, how do you guys still manage to celebrate important days with the distance? Thank goodness for cell phones and the internet, but its just not the same as sipping a giant fishbowl cocktail with them by your side!
Anyway, hope you're all having a great start to your week!
