A Low Key 4th

Three day weekends are the best.  If every weekend was three days long I think everyone would be a lot happier! Except the people who work weekends.

Outfit Details:
Dyed Dress - c/o Oasap
White Sunnies - c/o Sunglass Warehouse
Wedges - thrifted
Necklace - handmade/ DIY
Fish Purse - gift from Mom (from Taiwan!)

This is what I wore on the fourth!  I went for a more understated red white and blue look than the screamingly patriotic kind this time around.  This new indigo and white dyed dress from Oasap was absolutely perfect for an ultra low key day of grilling (veggie for me) hot dogs, buzzed cherry pie baking, and playing ping pong.  I'll be honest, we may have had so much food and drink so early in the day that we were barely able to stay awake until it got dark.  We did catch the fireworks from across town out our window though!

Yesterday R and I discovered that there is actually a BEACH less than a mile from our new house, something I never thought I'd say living here in Colorado.  The one thing I miss most about home in New Jersey is definitely the beach and ocean.  Even though our new find is only a reservoir, it has sand, a swimming area, and even a lifeguard, so I am one happy camper.  Now you know where you can find me on basically every summer weekend from here on out!

Hope you guys had a wonderful weekend!
xo Hannah

  1. This dye gives the fabric such interest while allowing the shape of the dress to be clean and simple.

  2. I'm a big fan of this look! The dress reminds me of clouds. It sounds like you had a nice relaxing Fourth. I've never baked a cherry pie, but a friend recently gave me a recipe to try - if I succeed I'll feel like a real American girl!

Beach discovery = SO EXCITING. Enjoy :)

  8. How cute are you? Seriously cute! :) I love that wee little fish bag. Animal accessories (and fabrics printed with critters) are a firm and much adored favourite of mine. This is such a fun, sweet summertime outfit, dear gal.

Big hugs & many thanks for the wonderfully nice birthday wishes,

  9. I honestly prefer a bit of a more understated 4th outfit and this one is lovely! Also thought sounds great, I love when you find something so magical so close to where you live that you never even knew was there before.

  11. oh that is so exciting you found a little beach so close by!! there are some great natural swimming spots around here but not too close (until hopefully we move closer : ). I mean, there's the apartment complex swimming pool (which i think is a really common thing in the southwest w/ mega apartment complexes and not so much other places maybe?) but i've come to be really bothered by chlorine lately for some reason, even though I grew up in it. Now onto the important things: that dress is the perfect fun wash & this is the best mix of comfy looking but stylish too and, you should make necklaces like this for your shop, i love the simple draping of it.
