Weekend Whites

Just a super casual outfit I wore hanging out this weekend. This dress may or may not now be covered in the bright yellow kraft mac n cheese I ate while wearing it.  So it goes while wearing all white.

Outfit Details:
Hat - RVCA via Swell (similar)
Shoes - Converse
Dress - Hanna Andersson (thrifted)

Two things R loves are sneakers and baseball hats.  Now that we share a closet in our new place, seeing his hat collection every day has started to give me mild envy, so I decided to get a few cute ones for myself during a big sale swell was having.  Forty percent off of items already on sale? Yes please.  I roped R and a few other friends into buying mass quantities of things too.  Sorry not sorry!

Anyway this striped hat by RVCA is a new favorite. The bill has a pretty hawaiian print and its super comfy too.  I love how throwing a baseball hat on with a dress gives an outfit an instant low key vibe. BBQs, frisbees, cocktails on the patio, and eating all meals outside - here I come!

Watermelon Mint

Just stopping in with a quick outfit from this weekend.  R snapped these for me as we were heading out the door to a bbq!

Outfit Details
Watermelon Blouse - Vintage
Mint Pants - Vintage, for sale in the shop here!
Taupe Sandals - Vintage, for sale in the shop here!
Mint Sunnies - c/o Sunglass Warehouse
Fringe Purse - Vintage

This was the most fun outfit to wear, probably ever, and its pretty much ALL vintage.  Even though its hard to wear an aloha shirt without screaming "tourist" (especially one with oversized fruit), the colors and print make me extremely happy.  I paired the vintage top with comfy high waisted mint pants from the shop and matching sunglasses from Sunglass Warehouse.  Oh, and my mom's fringed purse from the 70s!

Anyway, off to hem lots of new vintage for the shop.  Hope you're all having a lovely week!

Garden Stripes

Hi guys.  Monday's here trying to ruin all the fun. Did everyone have a good weekend?

I spent mine riding my bike, making up cocktail recipes using things found in our garden, going to R's family bbq, and catching up on some Orange is the New Black.

Outfit Details:
Vtg Woven Loafers - for sale in the shop here!
Vtg Striped Tee - for sale in the shop here!
Vtg Tribal Pants - for sale in the shop here!
Sunnies - c/o American Apparel
Hat - Eddie Bauer

These were snapped in our backyard, and you can even see our little raised garden beds in the background in some.  There are raspberries and cherries growing already which are almost ripe for the picking (if the birds don't get there first!)  Then I planted watermelon, cantaloupe, tomatoes, cucumbers, basil, and mint in the beds.  Fingers crossed! I have no clue what I'm doing, but should probably figure out some sort of fertilizer (preferably natural!) to give them a little help.  Anyone have any suggestions?
I'm also making an effort to style more things from the shop other than just dresses.  These awesome vintage tribal pants are so comfortable and have the perfect high waisted fit.  I paired them with some woven loafers and a striped crop top, also available in the shop!
Have a great start to your week!

Pink Parrot

Want to know how to accessorize a jungle dress adorned with pink parrots? Why, with pink hair, pink sunglasses, a pink purse, a pink headband, and pink shoes of course!  Okay, so maybe I went a little bit overboard.

Outfit Details:
Parrot Dress - Vintage (sold out!)
Purse - Vintage (for sale in shop here!)
Pastel Wig - c/o Wigsbuy
Pink Sunnies - c/o Sunglass Warehouse
Shoes - Keds
Headband - vintage

I am still really loving this wig and not only because its pink, but because I can have my long hair back now whenever I want it!  I also realized I am pretty much completely camouflaged in this dress in my own back yard, especially in that first photo.  Though, I don't think there are any pink parrots in that bush behind me.

Also a new week, and new favorite pair of sunglasses!  These light pink shades from Sunglass Warehouse are amazing, the mirrored lens actually changes color depending on the angle you're looking at them and its my only pair like it.  Now I'm trying to show some self control and not go back and get at least one of the other colors, but the baby blue is calling my name pretty loudly!

Hope you guys have an amazing weekend planned and happy first official day of summer tomorrow!

Pineapple Print

When you move there's always so much that needs to be done around the house that you sometimes can feel guilty sitting on the couch when you are indoors.  So on Sunday, I packed a picnic, grabbed R, and told him we were going on a surprise bike ride date to get out of the house!

 EVERYONE SAY HI R!!! :)
Outfit Details:
Pineapple Blouse - Target (recent!)
Yellow Shorts - Sears
White Sunnies - c/o Sunglass Warehouse ($13!)
Sandals - hand-me-down

I had found this beautiful park and trail close to our neighborhood while exploring the other day and couldn't wait to bring him back to show him!  I packed some french bread, fancy cheeses, fruit, and even a beer for each of us.  Anyone else extra motivated to do physical activity if there's food/ drink involved at the end somehow? Yeah, us too.

I picked up this pineapple blouse a few weeks ago at target, and got the same print in tank form too because its adorable and I have no self control.  I then proceeded to be obsessed with fruit prints and decided to paint a triptych of sorts with three different fruit prints for my office wall (pineapple, watermelon, and papaya!)

I also should mention that there's a special social media 15% off coupon code for my vintage shop right now, just enter SPF15 at checkout!  New stuff is added daily!

Little White Dress

With the temperatures quickly rising, all I want to do is throw on a little white dress and call it a day.  I'm also at the point where light, loose, and breathable fabrics are really all I want to wear.  Whose with me?!
Outfit Details
Embroidered Dress - c/o Oasap
White Sunnies - c/o Sunglass Warehouse
Nude Heels - Shoemint
Necklace - Vintage

Another huge summer staple for me here in super sunny colorado are sunglasses! If you guys follow along on instagram, you probably remember seeing this post last week with my new sunnies from Sunglass Warehouse.  I have a bit of an addiction, so I got three new pairs and have been wearing them non-stop on rotation.  These retro wayfarers are R's favorite, as they are one of my only pairs that have a more classic cut and neutral color.  I apologize in advance for how much you will be seeing these as they go with everything.  Now all I need is a tan ;)  Anyway, if you are in the market for cute and affordable sunglasses, they have a HUGE selection and they are all under $20!

As for this dress from Oasap, it is super comfy and has beautiful blue embroidery on the bottom that unfortunately is hard to see in most of these photos.  I wore a version of this outfit for date night on Friday to drink a watermelon jalapeño margarita and eat some delicious veggie fajitas over at a brewery in our new town!  Summer is seriously the best.

p.s. It's a busy day for me on the interwebs!  I am also posting a remix over on the Flock Together blog and have an interview and DIY post up on Cutout & Keep today!

The Novelty of Summer

Hi guys!  I decided to wake up and go on a bike ride exploring my new neighborhood this morning instead of writing a blog post.  Judging from my general improved mood today, I'd say this was a good decision!

Outfit Details:
Dress - borrowed from Sammi
Jelly Sandals - vintage from the shop (sold)
Hat - Brixton
Sunnies - Lulu*s
Scarf - Vintage/ gift

I feel like a broken record whenever I talk about Sammi of The Soubrette Brunette on here, but she seriously is just the sweetest gal with a killer wardrobe!  I borrowed this novelty print dress with vintage cars and records on it, and used R's little Miata as the backdrop for these photos.

Anyway, my to-do list is a million miles long, I want to get so much done!  Hope you all have a beautiful weekend!

Mountain Pass

Sometimes I get so excited about a new outfit (like my last post) or set of photos that some older sets keep on getting pushed back and back.  This is one of those sets.  A fun day from a few weeks ago that now seems like a distant memory.

Outfit Details
Floral Dress - Vintage (sold out)
Denim Blouse - Vintage, for sale in the shop here!
Black Boots - Crown Vintage via DSW
Sunnies - gift

We took a mini roadtrip through the mountains for a few hours, and when I am in the car, comfort is key.  A flowy floral dress, boots, and a vintage denim jacket fit the bill perfectly.  We drove through beautiful mountain passes and ended the day in a little mountain town eating the best key lime pie ice cream I have ever had, yum!

Anyway, so much to do! Hope you're having a great week!

Pastel Houses

I've had my eye on this beautiful pastel house print dress for SO long.  So when I saw that Sammi was offering it up for swap via Flock Together, I could not wait to style it!  Since I moved into my very own (rental) pastel house just last weekend, I thought it would be the perfect occasion to ask to borrow it!

Outfit Details:
Dress - Yumi, borrowed from Sammi
Bow Flats - vintage
Pastel Wigc/o Wigsbuy

In other exciting news... UNICORN HAIR!   A few weeks ago, a sweet lady over at an online wig retailer called Wigsbuy reached out to see if I would be interested in doing a review.  At first I was hesitant after reading a few negative things online, but honestly, I am pretty thrilled with my cotton candy colored wig!  I have wanted light pink or lavender hair for awhile now, so this was the perfect way for me to give it a try without the commitment or upkeep.  This particular one has a very light pastel pink in front, with lavender underneath and a bright light blue in back!  They also have natural looking wigs, but I definitely wanted to go for something a bit more costume-y.  I think the wig looks better with a bit of a style to it so I pulled it back, and it came with a cute pink comb and was easy to brush out without losing a lot of hairs.  It also came with clips and a wig cap, which I need to learn how to use better. Anyway, I can honestly say I am really happy with the fun one I chose!  What to you guys think?!

Hope you are having a wonderful day, and a big thanks to Sammi for letting my borrow my dream dress!

Banana Boat

My very first outfit post taken in my new back yard!  The perks of working from home include being able to wear whatever I want, so if I want to dress like a tropical banana boat, so be it.

Outfit Details
Striped Parrot Tee - c/o Oasap
Green Skirt - c/o Oasap
Heart Sunnies - c/o Oasap
Gladiator Sandals - hand me down, Mom
Boater Hat - vintage/ thrifted

I definitely felt like making some sort of fruity summer cocktail while wearing this.  Or maybe like I WAS the fruity summer cocktail?  I just got this striped tee covered in parrots in the mail along with the heart sunnies and green skirt, and thought why not wear them all at once!  So much fun! R thinks I have questionable judgement.

Anyway, having a private outdoor area to be able to take some outfit photos in will definitely be nice! The rampant mosquitos, however, not so much.  Do any of you have a backyard with lots of mosquitos? What are some things that you have done, short of dousing yourselves in chemicals, that have helped?  Any tips would be much appreciated!

Have a wonderful day!
